New to LSPDFR

I just purchased GTA V July 16th 2024. I was so excited to try LSPDFR but can’t install. Apparently it is not compatible currently with most recent update. Couldn’t find my steam folder which I can see when not installing. Was told in discord it is unplayable. I know there isn’t an exact date but how often to updates take to be released?  Will it be done this month?

There is no ETA, but typically they take around a week. SHV can take longer and is usually updated after RPH/LSPDFR. It will be done this month, yes.

Is it okay if we play with not updated version of SHV ?

SHV isn't used by LSPDFR. So the question depends on what other mods you have installed.

How can I find out which mods use SHV? i want to play with mods like:ELS, Stop The Ped, Callouts,EUP etc.

ELS requires SHV, as does OpenIV to make use of the "mods" folder. You're also likely going to want to install Heap Adjuster, Packfile Limit Adjuster, Resource Adjuster, etc. all of which require SHV.

If a mod has an ASI file, then it'll require a Script Hook. Anything that is installed into "Plugins" (likely) doesn't need SHV.

So just a thought and I don't know if it's been brought up before, considering the situation in the Ukraine, has there been any thought about having a resource from here team up with AB to learn how to maintain SHV?

RPH does the job of SHV, if authors want to use it, they can port their scripts to RPH.

We don't want the job of maintaining yet another modding resource - especially one that isn't used by us - but perhaps somebody else would be interested. Although Alex is still actively updating, and hasn't missed an update yet.

Just to add, someone actually did make a compatibility layer to convert SHV mods to RPHhttps://github.com/fr-Pursuit/AsiSupport

I'm not sure if it works or is maintained, though. But potentially a good starting point for somebody interested.
