For future reference, how would I go about updating LSPD:FR?  Would I need to completely reinstall everything or is it a case of just swapping files or it updates automatically?  I've never updated mods before so I thought I'd ask before I do the more complicated way.

There is no 100% way of doing this,
but likely for this patch you will only need to update RPH.exe & LSPDFR.dll & .pdb in  gtav/plugins
you still need to update your mods folder (via openiv message or redo the mods folder).
Additionally you might need (& wait) for an update for ScripthookV, which is done by an other author.

For clarification, to update GTA V itself, replace those highlighted files in the screenshot, metadata in update - x64, and update2 in update. 

 

You do not need to reinstall your entire mods folder, OpenIV is not going to ask you to do so. 

 

For future updates, to quickly identify what has been updated(including LSPDFR), check the "date modified" section in File Explorer, and copy/paste those files that have the most recent dates to your LSPDFR copy.
