Regarding garbled characters after loading LSPDFR in Japanese version GTAV

Hello, this is my first time posting on the forum.

I'm Japanese and I'm playing LSPDFR in the Japanese version of GTAV, but when I use a translatable plugin (such as BejoIjo's Stop The Ped) and change the plugin language to Japanese, the characters Disappearance will occur.

This garbled character is a phenomenon that occurs when loading LSPDFR, and I think many Japanese people besides me are struggling with this problem.

 

I don't know much about programming, so I'm just speculating, but I wonder if this problem is occurring as a result of incorporating GTA Online's character creation function and map enlargement function.

(I also have the previous version, 0.3.1, and I have confirmed that garbled characters do not occur in 0.3.1.

One of the major advances in 0.4 is the introduction of GTA Online functions.

I think it might be related to this problem)

 

Naturally, I don't think the people on the development team are Japanese, so I think it would be difficult to reproduce this problem or identify the cause of the problem, but is it possible to fix it on the LSPDFR side?

If you, or a Japanese coder, can provide exact instructions for reproducing this problem, as well as potentially a before/after LSPDFR is loaded example to prove LSPDFR is causing this issue - we can look into it.

Does this also affect prompts/Japanese text coming from GTA itself?

 

Just to follow up, I may have found some code that could cause this. Does this only impact those help side messages?

In addition to the help message displayed in the upper left corner of the Japanese text displayed from GTA itself, notification messages also seem to be affected by garbled characters.
Strictly speaking, in the case of notification messages, garbled characters (such as □) are not displayed, but the number of characters that can be displayed is clearly reduced. I think that perhaps the garbled characters are not displayed, but garbled characters are occurring behind the scenes, and the number of characters that can be displayed is reduced due to the character limit.
Please note that the conversation text displayed at the bottom of the screen does not seem to be affected.

 

Speaking of samples before and after loading LSPDFR, what kind of samples should I specifically provide?

procedure:
・Install LSPDFR.
I think it's okay without installing the plugin.
・Change the language to Japanese.
Create a text file called "commandline.txt" in the folder where GTA5.exe is located, and write "-uilanguage japanese" and save it. (Please do not include ")
・Start GTA5 and load story mode.
If you are set to display the start screen, select "ストーリー".
・Display a help message when the game screen is displayed.
Please go to a location where a help message appears (such as a confiscated item storage area) or set your phone to Do Not Disturb to display a help message.
Note that the most noticeable garbled text was when I set it to Do Not Disturb mode, so I will introduce this method.
You can set it to Do Not Disturb mode by taking out your cell phone and going to "設定", "プロフィール", and "おやすみモード".

If LSPDFR is not loaded, you will see a help message like this:
"おやすみモードに設定している。ストーリーの進行が停止中。再開するには、設定メニュー内のプロフィールから通常モードを選択するか、既存のミッションを開始する。"
When you load LSPDFR, you will see a help message like this:
“おやすみモードに設定してぁE□、En”

 

The above phenomenon occurs.

By the way, when you go to a place where a help message is displayed, it doesn't change much, just adding an "E" at the end, perhaps because there aren't that many characters, but when you're playing LSPDFR, you'll see a lot of help messages, and because it displays a large number of characters, the text becomes meaningless, similar to Do Not Disturb mode, and I feel that it takes away from the fun.
LSPDFR's original language is English, so if you want to enjoy it in English, that's all you need, but my honest opinion is that if you can play even part of the game in Japanese, you'll want to play in your own language.

For your reference, I have included an example of a notification message.

 

The notification message displayed by Stop The Ped's identity verification function when played in Japanese on the left and English on the right.

 

I managed to adjust the display of the driver's license at the top, so there is no problem, but the notification messages in the middle and bottom are cut off.

 

The notification message in the middle no longer displays the date of birth (the part in orange text), and the message at the bottom does not display whether there is an active warrant.

 

With this, even if a warrant had been issued, they would have failed to arrest him lol.

@QuestDragon Can you let me know if this happens with just LSPDFR? I couldn't reproduce this with solely LSPDFR running and no other plugins/scripts.

I have configured the LSPDFR plugin and all asi plugins that use ScriptHookV not to load, and verified by running only LSPDFR with GTAV as close to vanilla as possible, but the problem still seems to occur.

Also, this is a supplement, but LSPDFR downloaded the Manual Install version again and installed and verified it without changing the settings at all.
The screenshots were verified and taken immediately after the first startup and character creation after installation.

I couldn't reproduce the problem with only LSPDFR installed and with the -uilanguage japanese.

I was testing on internal builds which may somehow not be affected, so I will retest this soon.

This is a side note, but if you are using the Steam version, change the language to Japanese from the properties and try playing it. Something may change.
(If the game screen is correctly set to Japanese using -uilanguage japanese when testing, I think it probably won't have much effect...)
