If they're wearing a hat, it won't magically disappear.

I'm a little confused what you are getting at here, but maybe this is something of interest?

If you enter a vehicle while having any sort of headwear equipped, it will disappear.

Perhaps you are looking for something like this, but I cannot guarantee it is working. It says you keep your current hat when entering a car.
