So as the title says cars went spawning in Gta iv for me at the moment. All I was doing was changing a texture for a lightbar on a speedo then when I must have changed the wrong texture, no cars in GTA IV at all. Please help! I don't have a backup as usually you don't need one for a texture change.

EDIT: ok well I looked it up on google because I was about to rage throw my sister out the window because I looked depressed and she kept saying "what's wrong?" For future reference, never leave SparkIV open when opening up GRA IV, it glitches the car spawning.

Did you make sure to close Spark IV or Open IV whatever one you are using before you started your game?

 

 

Also it is always smart to back up your game. No matter what your changing, you just never know some times...

Try re-installing the car that you changed the texture with, if this works you can put the texture you want back on the vehicle, just know where to put it. And remember to save and rebuild the archive in spark iv or open iv.

Ok we'll another question, when I want to make a lightbar work, like the one I have on the speedo, which texture do I change? One of them is called "emerglights" but I'm not sure that one will work, there is also a pink covered texture that appears to be a lightbar texture engraved in it.

It sounds like your trying to change the light bar color. Your going to want to change the "emerglights" and there is usually another file called "emergelights_emis".

Lights should work on car no matter color of lightbar glass

Do you have ELS installed?

I have ELS installed, bear-with though as the created is giving me the ELS values to add to the script for the speedo.

Add this to your els.ini

Yep, that works for the light colours but the lightbar itself just keeps glitching away like when you use the sirens on the orginal police cars with ELS.

If you mean the lights will sometimes stop flashing and glitch out. Then that will happen with ELS not sure why but I have that same issue also when I have ELS enabled for the AI police.

No I mean the lightbar keeps disapearing and reapearing every flash of the light bar, second problem, I downloaded new ELS car today, ELS works fine but even though I downloaded the texture right the cars are plain white except for the badge for the crown victoria. I can give you the links to the cars if you like.

Is the car that has the light bar vanishing the same speedo van you linked already?


I have not seen the light bars do that unless the car was a non-els car. So make sure the cars that have the light bars doing doing this to you were created with els enabled. You find this out by going to where you downloaded the car. If you got it here from LCPDFR then it says in the file info on the right hand side of the download page for each car.

 

Also if you don't mind me asking what texture are you trying to put on the car?  

vDH METT/coroner mod has the texture pack Im installing, and the car I dowloaded is ELS enabled.

Ok well, Ive fixed everything! I used GTA IV vehicle mod installer and reinstalled all the modded cars then added the textures and it all works now, thanks for the help guys!
