all my cars were sets to default after installing new lspdfr

Featured Replies

so i just installed the new lspdfr and when i open my gta v when i look at my car it all sets to default police car, i thought the problem is with my open iv but when i check out my open iv all of my custom police cars were there i tried to rearrange my car into another patchday but its still not working, someone pls help me out.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/183a7R6bYlGE4nky3pY1QwmYC_ptLDn6m?usp=share_link here's 4 minute video of my confusion about the police car

Hello, this sounds like it could be an issue related to the mods folder itself that Custom Vehicles are installed to.

A few things to try, first, try reinstalling ALL cars by simply overwriting the previous ones, open up whatever vehicle it is you're installing in the .zip, and do he normal install process as you normally would and see if that mitigates the issue.

Second, if that does not work, it is likely that you're better off rebuilding your mods folder, delete the mods folder and start clean, this is very simple and isn't very time consuming if you know what you are doing, especially when dealing with replacement vehicles.

Third, if you choose to take this step, note that depending on the amount of addon vehicles you have, it can be tedious but it may well fix the issue. its basically just overwriting the car files as I stated previously, however, this time open up your OIV and find each CUSTOM CAR you have (ex. police_hi.ytd) and delete that file along with the other corresponding file, do this for each custom vehicle and then proceed to reinstall the vehicles from scratch.

if you do not want to rebuild your mods folder then there isn't really much else I can tell you other than what I already have, usually issues like this are an issue with the mods folder itself not your game or OIV. Lastly, you should learn to install custom cars as DLC/Addons instead of replacements if you haven't already, they seem to be much more viable in terms of not breaking your game as long as you install the necessary prerequisites to install them. I hope this helps and sorry you're having this problem, unfortunately its the nature of modding GTA V since there is no and like never will be any native support for modding the game.

Also, I noticed in your video that your vehicles were install in patchday28ng, mine are installed in patchday24ng, if you haven't, try relocating them there. Again, this can cause things to be a bit messy and knowing how GTA can be, may lead to game issues down the road, so you're likely better off with a fresh mods folder.

If you mean as backup they are spawning as default, it could be because when you installed the fresh version of LSPDFR, it reset any xml files you had edited in the lspdfr folder in the Main Directory (i.e. the agency.xml). You will have to re-add the entries again to get the vehicles to show up in the AI response.

Additionally, to add on to what Grizzly said, any replace vehicles should be installed to mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\Patchday28g9ec\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf as whatever dlcpack was the most recent to be released will be the most optimal to have your vehicles installed to.

Thank you for clarifying the patchday thing, I hardly ever do Replacements so I kind of had to dig that out of the back of my mind. But yes, mine are installed differently simply because they were installed at a different time.
