CAPTCHA challenge ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Featured Replies

Apart from the increasingly annoying ads, you decided to add a CAPTCHA challenge to be completed before you start downloads, that sometimes are extremely hard to read. Get rid of this crap.

The CAPTCHA challenge was toggled on in response to an incident. Once we are confident the incident is over the CAPTCHA will be removed.

The challenge is there to protect the community and ensure you can still download files even when there are attempts to attack our infrastructure, if it wasn't there for events like this, you wouldn't be able to download anything.

Some of them are actually hard to read and make me want to throw my keyboard against the wall. Ill hold off until they are gone. Thanks for insight.

Maybe do picture based captcha instead, or the puzzle piece where we grab the slider and move the puzzle into place.  I get Sucio's frustration, some of them are impossibly annoying.

I need donations to help fund my food addiction. DM for details 😂

I've previously mentioned why we don't use these, off the shelf services for solving these are available (hCaptcha, reCAPTCHA, etc). The party who attacks this site has the financial resources to use those and has previously easily bypassed those CAPTCHAs with solve services. Nobody bothers offering such a service for our custom one, which is image and proof of work based.

I will look into making our custom one easier, whilst maintaining the security provided.

Whilst I understand the frustration, that frustration would be many magnitudes higher if such an attack overwhelmed our infrastructure and no downloads were possible.
