Help needed for Steam Deck/Linux

Featured Replies

Hello people!

I recently got my hands on a Steam Deck which runs SteamOS based on Arch Linux. One of the main reasons I got it was to play LSPDFR on the go, so that's one of the first things I installed.

Now the problem is, that RAGE won't launch no matter what compatibility tool (Proton, Lutris) I use.

Does anyone here maybe have some experience with LSPDFR under Linux and could give me a hint?

Any idea would be highly appreciated :D

lspdfr is only compatible on pc and windows.

I know, but I'm trying to run it with Lutris, a Windows-to-Linux compatibility layer 🙂

Edit: And now I'm getting the "Loading LSPDFR" infinitely error

Here are the logs if someone's interested ^^RagePluginHook_29062022_104446.log

I'm afraid even tracing through the source code, the error doesn't make much sense. Perhaps the PDB trace is bad (or the .NET impl is), do you get a different error at all from subsequent loads?

@Cyan Hi, I am trying to get it running as well. Basically the same error appears everytime and also there is an empty yellow exclamation mark box that appears to the left side of the screen which I guess is supposed to say that the plugin crashed. There are still stuff that I haven't tried yet so I will report when I do.

Yeah directX is the least of the problems since the game is working fine with the translation layer.

I pretty much reached a dead end in trying to troubleshoot it. It seems from the log above that it is looking for something that it cant't find for some reason.

Is it something from the `lspdfr` folder?

@CyanWhat do these lines of code in the stack trace look for that is null for some reason? Maybe something I can figure out. It might not make much sense for you because on windows it just automagically works but here it might need some more dependencies to be installed that I am not aware of.
