None of my mods work after newest update?

Featured Replies

I know that I need to wait for a script hook v update but some mods should still work without it. Not a single mod works for me. Replace cars and audio mods should work fine without script hook. Open IV has the green banner at the top that says "copy new version to mods folder" and I think that fixed it last time but last time I clicked that it wiped out at least 75% of my mods. Is there any way I could fix this without losing my mods? I have over 30gb of mods installed.

You have to update your mods folder after every major GTA V title update. That's not something you can just avoid.
What that does is it replaces your Update.rpf in /update.

Of course, mods are stored there; such as the dlclist.xml; vehicles.meta; handling.metas; visuals for visual mods, etc.
Usually, before you update your mods folder, you backup the dlclist.xml so you know which dlcpacks (modded) to add later to the updated update.rpf.

EUP is a good example.
It will still be installed into your mods folder; it just got wiped from dlclist.xml.

Simple go and readd it:

<Item>dlcpacks:/eup/</Item>

And it's done.

Same goes for any dlcpacks of cars or clothing you have installed.

Visuals will need to be reinstalled completely.

I backed up the whole update.rpf and mods folder. I noticed that dlclist got reset. I got my old dlclist and pasted it over the new one and the game wont start now. Do I have to go through and type everything in again? Or do I just need to add a new line to my old one? If so what would I add?

I copied and pasted all of the stuff I added to the old dlclist on to the new dlclist not removing anything. The game still won't start. Could the missing handling.meta and vehicles.meta be causing this? I didnt touch those yet. Since I backed up my old update.rpf could I paste those 2 files over the new ones?
