Site for stoptheped and other Bejoljo plugins is malicious now?

Featured Replies

So I reinstalled lspdfr and all that stuff, and went to bejoljo's site to get his mods, ultimate backup, stoptheped, etc-and it now redirects to a malicious website. Has anyone else heard anything about this or know what's going on?

Yes, his website is known for having malicious ads.  In order to use his website safely, you have to either use an ad blocker or pay him.

Ah. But the plugins themselves are not malicious?

Google Chrome already has built-in ad protection. If you don't find it enough, you can install adguard.

The built in "ad protection" must be a joke then lol. Never seen any ads being blocked by Chrome.

The best adblocker is still uBlock Origin.

I've always used them and they work perfectly fine. It honestly comes down to peoples views on what his plugins do. Mainly, people take issue with the fact that they version check and if you arent running the latest version, they will throw an error. This version checker also requires internet which some arent too fond of.

That's been an issue for months, it's not really news. If you have good antivirus and you don't click on any of the out-of-place links, you should be fine IMHO.

Exactly. Thats just WIX being WIX. He wants the extra revenue from it so he runs ads via WIX. I honestly dont see what all the fuss is. 🤷‍♂️

Probably has something to do with morals.

Morals, the personal gain of an individual and the risk it causes for all the users that access the website.

An antivirus won't do as much. A proper adblocker would be better.

Eh, not really.

There is not a strong protection but Google Chrome can block ads.

Extra, Ublock and adguard good solution for blocking ads.
