Map mods?

Featured Replies

Hi I'm wondering if anyone knows if any mods for the maps (M) so you can see the street names. Having issues when I'm with my clan doing patrols and having to respond to a location, I have to follow someone because I don't know where the streets are.

Edit Update: Ok I looked it up, and downloaded it, and it says to replace radar.....blah blah with openIV. When I go to replace the file, the actual file that needs replaced, isn't there!

1. Make backups of the following game files:

- "Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\pc\models\cdimages\radar.img"

- "Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\pc\textures\hud.wtd"

2. Unpack the archive "GTAIVmod_GoogleMapRadar.rar" and transfer the unzipped directory "pc" to folder with a game Grand Theft Auto IV with replacement files

3. Download and install the latest version OpenIV from http://openiv.com/

4. Then open it from the catalog "Grand Theft Auto IV \ pc \ textures" file for editing "hud.wtd"

5. In the open file find the line "radarringback.dds", highlight it and click "Replace". Select the modified file "radarringback.png" from the downloaded archive. Click "Save" and Enter key to complete the operation in a dos-box.

The radarringback.dds isn't even in there.....>.>

make sure you are in edit mode (top right). Then right click on the file you want to edit in this case hud.wtd and select edit. You will now be able to replace individual dds's within the wtd.

'Do you feel lucky, punk?'

It's not a DDS file in the archive, it's a PNG; you replace radarringback.dds with it, as in click "Replace" up above.

Also, this one really good, I prefer it.
