Help loading DLC

Featured Replies

Hi, I've had a look at the wiki but cant seem to get it to work. I have converted FiveM map edits and YMAP to SP which I can load fine using a dlcpack in the mods folder, but I prefer to use LML. I tried a few different ways to get LML to load my dlc.rpf but nothings worked so far. Is what im trying to do even possible with LML?

Edit: Got it to load in the textures but it doesn't seem to be loading anything else.

Loading RPFs directly is very much supported. LML will inject the entry into the dlclist and it will then be processed by the game naturally. To load them, you can use the DlcRpf tag. If you put the dlc.rpf next to your install.xml, all that is needed is this, for instance in a resource tag:

<DlcRpf>dlc.rpf</DlcRpf>

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

I have tried that, maybe my install.xml is wrong. Can you check if i have done it right please.

install.xml

Assuming the rpf is in the same folder as the install.xml, that looks good to me. And you are saying that loading it via a dlc list entry works fine, just not via LML?

Yes, if i have the mods folder installed, i can load the dlc from the dlcpacks and the custom maps/buildings load fine. Doing it for LML loads nothing. I go to the location and its just the default map/buildings still.

Edit: @LMS All sorted mate, deleted my GTA V directory, re-installed from vanilla backup, made sure load MP-maps was enabled in TrainerV. Re-installed LML and tried with the install.xml above and now its working.

So now I have another issue. In order for the dlc.rpf to be loaded with LML I need to have the openiv.asi installed in the gta v directory (dont need an actual mods folder though). With it, everything loads fine through LML but as soon as I delete the openiv.asi I cant get past the loading screen, i get a ERR_GEN_INVALID error and crashes to desktop. As soon as delete the custom map from LML the game loads fine.

That happens for any RPF not properly re-encrypted (like the R* ones) unfortunately. OpenIV bypasses this restriction as its own archives are not encrypted, but LML does not do that. You can theoretically fix your RPFs, but keeping OpenIV around might be the easier way.

Ah okay mate, im glad you know the answer. Il try and fix the RPFs just because i want to solely rely on LML. Thanks for your help.

@LMS Thanks for linking the archivefix, i can confirm that i have successfully "fixed" my dlc.rpf and everything is loading fine with LML without the need for openiv.asi. Your help as always is much appreciated.

Your comments made me look into this more and I think I came up with a similar logic to OpenIV to allow unencrypted RPFs to be loaded. Would you be available for testing?
