Hey everyone,

 

I am new to LSPDFR and GTA V, I did not realize that Steam would automatically update GTA V. As we know, the new version of GTA won't work with LSPDFR they release a new version to run with the new patch/update. Does anyone know if there is a way to uninstall the GTA update so I can continue to use LSPDFR? RAGE won't let me load in the game because of the unsupported game version. I've searched the internet high and low for an answer if it is possible to uninstall an update, with no avail. If anyone has any insight to offer I would most definitely appreciate it!

I'm sorry, but a game update cannot be uninstalled. You are forced to wait for a release like all of us

This is how we all learn about all of this stuff.  The GTA 5 update was planned for release.  So if you wanted to, you could have selected the option to not load Steam on startup.  Then when started steam and it tries to update, just click off that to close it out and then go to Steam and then to "offline only" mode. This will work for awhile, but eventually Social Club will want to connect again.  At that point you can maybe try rebooting PC and see if you can go back into offline mode.

I tell you this, because Rockstar will continue to update GTA 5 and milk their online baby for several more years.  Use this as a learning experience for next time.

Adding on to what Benzo said, this method worked for me. For future,  Before logging on your computer, disconnect from internet WiFi or wired, then launch steam in “offline” mode and then launch GTAV with ragepluginhook. This method has worked for me. 
 

The best part is we seem to know the updates well in advance, so we have plenty of time to backup and downgrade if need be. 😉

If you go to my post in the Media Section of this forum you will see how I got LSPDFR working again after GTAV updated on my PC.

I have also added a line to commandline.txt in the GTAV folder which prevents GTAV going online.

 

I know LSPDFR will eventually update but this method allows me to play LSPDFR in the meantime.
