Crashing with LCPDFR

Featured Replies

Good Evening guys,

I've been franticly trying to get this awesome looking mod to work on my boyfriends computer, however I'm having no luck, having reinstalled the game a number of times.

I have updated the game with the latest patch direct from R* Games and I have no other mods, other than xLiveless and ELS Mod. (And this, ofcorse) I also have a 100% Game save, which I know for sure isn't the issue.

Now, I would get constant crashing whenever I had a conflict with xLiveless, however it is no longer the issue, as without any other mods installed (except vehicles) it works flawlessly.

Is there a known conflict between the mods I am using, and if so and if not what can I do to resolve this?

Unfortunately, I cannot get to the computer with GTA to post a diagnostics report, not until tomorrow morning.

Any help is well appreciated.

The game will begin to load a game save and then it would just go blank, crash to windows and say it has failed. I'm on the Computer with GTA installed, so I shall now run a diagnostics test.

Edit - Just attempted to run the diagnostics and its saying there is no ASI loader, not sure what one of those is.

Futher Edit - Just installed the programme again with the ASI loader (No idea why it wasnt included) it managed to load the game, but as soon as you spawn the game crashes.

Try reinstalling all the files from ELS into the game directory. An ASI loader is included in the ELS files, and the ASU loader with LCPDFR doesn't seem to work for me or some other people. Also, do you have c++ library installed?

I have just copied the ELS files once again and yes the c++ are installed. The game has now loaded up but there are no textures also if I press Alt + P it does nothing.

Should I just try once again doing a clean install or is that not going to fix anything?

No textures are caused by not haveing a powerful enough graphics card. One of the shames of GTA 4 is how crappy the PS3 to PC conversion was. The best way to fix it with a low end PC is to use the default car models without ELS. You will also have to delete the ELS files to keep the lightbar from disapearing and reappearing. Lt. Caine on Gtapolicemods made some good versions of the default cars you can use to try to keep texture loss from happening.

No offence dude, but I have an XFX 6870 so, graphics cards are NOT the issue here as it works perfectly fine before I mod the game (Standard GTA) on MAX settings.

It looks like you have both xliveless and dsound, delete one of the two from the install folder.

The reason this happens is because the game was so poorly converted so only some card can run it without this bug.

Hi Sniper,

I don't think its a graphics card issue, as I said, when I'm not using the ELS or LCPDFR mod, the game words perfectly well in max settings, without any crashes.

As for the xliveless and dssound, I have done this I believe. I am currently reinstalling the game and shall try once more on a fresh install.

What I'm starting to think, is it's the xliveless.... Does anyone else use a downloaded 100% game save? Or shall I do what I read in another thread and play the game, complete the first mission, then save it and try from there?

The problem is the ELS cars themselves, they have a stupidly high polygon count which causes the game to stop loading textures, the reason it doesn't happen when playing the normal game is that you aren't constantly in a ELS car.

It probably is best to just play the first mission then save rather than use the downloadable save files, if you want all of the islands unlocked you can use SimpleNativeTrainer.

The trainer sounds good. You say about the ELS cars, I had them installed before I installed LCPDFR and the cars worked perfectly fine (Didn't have the ELS mod installed just the cars) had several UK Police cars that were all ELS and it was fine.

In some cases the texture loss only happens when the ELS lights are active because the lights are components of the car that get rapidly toggled, when I had ELS it only happened a while into a long chase after having the lights active. And if you do get the trainer it is a good idea to disable the shortcuts to avoid things happening when using LCPDFR

I think this issue is different to yours, as I've not enabled ELS and even with it on, it still worked. In 10 mins GTA should be installed, and with any luck this will work. You're being awfully helpful, so thank you.

Edit - Unmodded, clean GTA works perfectly. Now to install FR

Just installed FR, no other mod...

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.

To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.

Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.

To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

===============END .NET SCRIPTHOOK LOG===============

End of *SIGNED* LCPD First Response Issue Report

Digital signature: Y2us1Ten2D0S+dkz4gNONg==

Further Edit - On looking closely I can see the fault is loading a system file that looks to be .NetFrameWork 4.0.0.0 so going to try and reinstall that, reboot and see how it goes.

Final Edit - Works perfectly now. Hopefully this thread can help others! Was the .Net 4.0

Thanks guys, Loves ya!
