Hi Guys I was wondering if someone could help me, I was changing some skins on some of my vehicles and the YTD files are now notebook files as I must have pressed something. Is there away to get the file back. I have uninstalled openIV but the files are the same.   

Right click on the file -> Properties.

 

In there you can select the "standard app" to open it with. 

sorry but that didn't work anymore suggestions, for some reason it now has the paint logo on the file. when I open properties there is no Standard app to open

There should be.

You can't open .ytd files in OpenIV?

I was putting new skins on some vehicles and when dragging the ytd file across to open IV , i must of done something wrong as it asked me how I want to open the ytd. Now its says open with command line RAR. Even if I delete winrar and veh whole vehicle file and reinstall them I still have the same problem. The YTD file will now only say open with command line Rar or what is in the microsoft store.

You are supposed to open it in OpenIV, not with any other files?

sorry for the late reply had to go to work, like I said was dragging the files across to open IV and for some unknown reason the ytd file stayed on my desk top. when I tried to drag it across to open iv I must have screwed up as now the file is Command Line Rar. I want to get the file back to its original format. Every time I down load a vehicle or pack the ytd file is now a command line rar file. I just want to get it back to its original format if possible, if not what are my options

If the .ytd is on your Desktop you are not supposed to open it at all. You should only open it with / in OpenIV.

If you can't drag & drop into OpenIV, then use the green +.

thanks yeah I know I am not supposed to open it on desk top, but I did it accidentally, then realised what had happened it was to late, but thanks for the input, hopefully will get it sorted. I think it is only a problem if I try to re skin a vehicle.

Yes, but that shouldn't matter. 

As soon as you place them in OpenIV, you they'll still work and change, so you can open them there.
