regarding texture loss

Featured Replies

Hi,

Was reading some posts on texture loss and hav e couple of questions.

If I was suffering texture loss and reduce the size of the textures (say in a 4k or 2k texture model) is there a lower limit you cant go below?

Also could devs include lower graphic textures with their mods as a seperate folder giving the option to use those instead?

Thanks in Advance

Well technically yes. You could lower the textures to an unreadable level 😄 also some authors do included lower quality texture with their downloads but it's really up to the individual author to if they want to or not.

Just your friendly neighborhood police jet 😄

what i useually do is open the texture file (ytd file) in openIV and extract all the textures (as png) then i use a program that can edit png files, and what i do is resize the image to 50% of the orginal (or more , depending on the image) i remember hearing from a video i saw on youtube saying that the max size for a vehicle should be no more then 15mb (model + texture directory) (here is that video
