how do i remove the light bar, what textures to i remove?

Can't seem to get the texture in game. I am using trainer V.

When going on duty, when choosing your vehicle there are a couple of extras you can switch off and on. I suggest also to remove FLAG_EXTRAS_ALL and FLAG_EXTRAS_REQUIRE from vehicles.meta (placed in update-update.rpf-common-data-levels-gta5) under police3. Use the search option with notepad to find police3, go to flags and remove these 2 flags to see also AI vehicles without lightbars.

The vehicle you should put the ford explorer in is police3. To spawn it, you can use the trainer, but then you need to select livery in the vehicles menu and change it (if you have multiple liveries). If you can't find it, then you have installed the texture wrong. 

you said to install the explorer, which I already had, and the go to the police3.ytd in open iv and replace your skin. I did that. I am using simple trainer but it still does not work.

If it doesn't appear you're doing something wrong. Did you follow the instructions in the ford explorer mod readme file (not present in my file, on the one of PimDSLR). If yes, when you have to choose a vehicle when going on duty, switch repeatedly between the ford explorer and another vehicle so that you see all the liveries installed on the ford. Check if you can find my livery on it.

Another solution: check if you substituted the explorer_signs, ALL of them (there are 8 if I'm not wrong in police3.ytd).
