How to use in RP:

  1. Arrive: Secure the area and tap F1 to shut down the road. Then use Traffic Policer 2025 to close the road.

  2. Identify: If it’s your own call, use Start Investigation. If it’s another mod’s call, use Assume Jurisdiction. If it’s Automatically Spawned - it automatically uses Start Investigation and adds the case to the case board. You just need to input the victims name. I do the victims name then perps after I find them. E.g. victim - perp: John Doe - Jane Doe

  3. Forensics: Select Process Scene to drop markers. Walk to each marker, read the description, and collect the evidence.

  4. Follow-up: Spawn a witness or a family member to get a statement before clearing the scene with the End key. And it can be on your time. This Script is either fast paced or slow it’s all up to you! Even after you end a scene with end key you can use the POI to generate leads via witnesses or family members

The Detective Bureau: Universal Investigation Script

Ever finish an LSPDFR callout and feel like the RP just "stops" once the suspect is handcuffed? The Detective Bureau is designed to extend your investigation by adding high-fidelity forensic procedures and scene management tools to any situation in Los Santos.

Key Features:

  • Universal Jurisdiction: This is the game-changer. Whether you are using a built-in LSPDFR event, a 3rd-party callout (like SuperCallouts), or you just stumble upon an organic crime scene, you can use the "Assume Jurisdiction" feature. The script will "sense" the nearest deceased subject and allow you to begin processing.

  • Dynamic Scene Processing: Deploy forensic markers that drop randomized evidence based on the case type (Homicides drop casings/blood; Accidents drop glass/skid marks). Walk the scene and collect evidence manually using the "E" key or right dpad if using controller.

  • Traffic Control (F1): It will erase traffic at the scene because sometimes they are parked on or over your victim. I also use Traffic Policer 2025 mod to stop the traffic.

  • POI Management: Need to interview the victim's family? Need to track down a witness who fled away? Use the Persons of Interest menu to generate leads and interview targets on the fly. You can also RP with existing peds.

  • Immersive Banners: Full Dispatch audio-visual support with blue banners and randomized victim models to ensure no two scenes look the same. (Text based only)

  • Case Management: Tracks up to 20 cases that refresh. Manually add the victims name to the Investigation Docket and continue your investigation until you can close the case.

  • During accident scene if you go into DMV you can Select Search Incident Vehicle and go find the perp who hit the ped!

  • MDT which syncs with the Case Board in the menu.

  • Notifications allows you to request family contact information and send the notification as well as let the Lieutenant know the case has been closed. Amongst others.

  • Three events: Narcotics Event, Car theft Event, Gang Event. Found in start investigation inside Detective Bureau menu.

  • Ambient-Auto Investigations: After you make Detective through the Dept Hub you will get random cases.

  • Property Investigations: X key, it is global, but should be used near doors at prop houses allows you to enter the interiors to investigate. Only 3 interiors.

  • DMV: You can check abandoned vehicles to see if the plate has been flagged in a crime. You can also check vin numbers for paperwork to see if a vehicle is stolen or if the ped didn't register it.

I’ve considered adding a crime lab but interiors are my least favorite thing to do and animating peds lol

Hi again...i really enjoy the latest update on the mod but i am unable to change hotkeys to any other keys.....hope you can fix this, and could you also add a modifier key on it too as well. Thanks

I do like the mdt that comes up when you search for ped name there picture shows up with criminal history.would be nice if there was vehicle database also that showed the car the suspect was last seen driving then you could put that cars license into the computer and click add bolo it would send out a bolo system and an alert would come in a few game mins later with last seen in area which a blip

I didn't exactly make the witnesses or suspects spawn organically but I am testing right now if the investigations spawn organically how it will work out. Since most of GTA's world is already ambient the Persons of Interest are just tools if you want them. So unfortunately, players will need to clock in the dept hub as well to become detective to unlock the investigations. Like I said though I am testing it out. If it works in testing then I will upload new version if not then I'll just keep it the same.

Just to add immersion. You can just alter the RankTime config when the game is closed out to 779 minutes leave unit alone. Then open game again and clock in - wait a minute then you’ll be promoted to Detective which triggers Ambient Investigations. It won’t affect LSPDFR expanded or remastered if you are using those to rank up. I made the mod so it would be always compatible with whatever plugin replaces policing redefined, stop the ped, expanded and remastered - if they ever get replaced. Think of it as a chameleon.

It would be nice to be able to disable this feature, as I don't really need it, especially the ranking indicator in the top right corner which is really annoying.

So instead of working through it with me you decided to give it two stars? I just downloaded it and so did my son and it works on his computer and mine. Do you have ScriptHookVDotNet3.dll in the scripts folder?

Fantastic mod. Ideal for people who want to play detective. I wish there was more call-out packs that had detective style call-outs together with this it be amazing for investigating as a detective

Sometimes the ScriptHookVDotNet3.dll populates in your script folder and needs to be removed (ever since the update by rockstar it’s done this). It seems a few people have trouble while everyone else doesn’t. I’m still trying to figure out why. But the main culprit for most is the ScriptHookVDotNet3.dll in the scripts folder populates and needs to be removed.

When I press "start investigation" on a deceased person, I get an exception something about vehiclecount(). F2 menu still works, F3 menu fails.
