GRIDWATCH

An intelligent citywide monitoring system designed to bring next‑generation awareness to San Andreas law enforcement.
Leveraging advanced ALPR scanning, behavioral analytics, and machine vision, GRIDWATCH constantly evaluates camera feeds across Los Santos to identify suspicious activity before officers even arrive on scene.
Safer streets. Smarter policing. Less human error.
GRIDWATCH — Keeping you safe by watching everything you do.

NON-LORE (What It Actually Does)

GRIDWATCH utilizes every traffic light in the world as a multi-functional ALPR and Shot-Detection "camera".

FEATURES

This system uses Common Data Framework (CDF) as the backbone, centralizing all data with it. This allows seamless compatibility with mods that also use CDF to pull vehicle data, like Reports+Riskier Traffic Stops, or Policing Redefined.

  • Uses every rendered traffic light as a camera around the player.

  • Detects the plates of vehicle driving through intersections in real-time.

  • Integrates with CDF.

  • Supports modular expansion.

  • Developer APIs 🙂

  • Minimal Performance impact*

*within limits of GTA scripting. Don't attack me if you're using ridiculously high numbers for things like poll rate, traffic density, etc.

DISCLAIMERS (PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING!)

  1. CDF's default chancing value is quite high, meaning GRIDWATCH will alert you way too often out of the box. You'll almost certainly want to lower your detection chance in the CDF INI for a more realistic experience.

  2. >ALL Bejolio's mods are incompatible. Do not ask about compatibility with StopThePed, Ultimate Backup, CompuLite, ALPR Lite, etc.<

  3. If you're experiencing "spam" from the ALRP alerts, there's a few things you can do to combat that. After tweaking with it, you should almost certainly be able to get it exactly where you want it, but under the hood GRIDWATCH is entirely honest, so the only thing that can be done about spam is to tweak the CDF settings (mentioned above), and tweak the GRIDWATCH settings (mentioned below):

    1. RAISE the ScanInterval in the INI, it is in Milliseconds (MS), so 1s = 1000ms

    2. LOWER the ReadChance in the INI, this is the chance that a plate will actually be successfully scanned.

    3. LOWER the MaxCamerasPerScan, this is the max amount of cameras that will be polled each scan

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 Brain cells to rub together

  • RagePluginHook

  • LSPDFR

update description and disclaimers

What's New in Version 1.1.1

Released

GRIDWATCH v1.1.1

  • Added INI value validation and raised menu item max limits to prevent crashing

Old patchnotes

GRIDWATCH v1.1.0

  • Added Version Checker

  • Fixed a crash with the Shotspotter if no valid nearby peds are found to attack

  • Added new config options

    • BlipDuration - How long blips last

    • TrackingBlips - New blip type, if enabled, instead of big red blips each scan, blips are now semi-transparent car blips, that follow the scanned vehicle (new default)

    • EnableBlips - Self explanatory, option to disable blips entirely for those who want ultra-mega-realism-mode

  • Raised default ScanInterval in INI from 1500 to 5000

    • This should help combat the reported spam, but if it's still too frequent for you; Raise the ScanInterval, lower the ReadChance to your liking.

  • Other backend cleanup stuff most users won't understand it's purpose if I mention it in the patch notes.

Omg this is going be immersive it’s unreal so if a vehicle is wanted or just drives through red lights the camera will scan the plates and send out an alert

This is a great plugin! However, I noticed that the hits are extremely too frequent no matter how much I change the settings. Maybe I'm making a mistake here editing the ini's, but I think It'd be better if these configurations were a lot lower by default because I'm getting hits constantly and it can be a bit annoying, that's all I'd recommend!

I've tried lowing it both in the CDF settings, setting all the frequencies to 5 and in the general ini where I did the same for the reading but they still seem to be way too frequent

Maybe on next update you can lower the hit rate and maybe add no insurance or no registration as the cameras scan the plates

I'm using GTA's colors according to rage.

I considered it, though that would increase hits exponentially. Maybe an optional feature, we'll see.

It's due to how the system works. Think about the math,

5 Cameras (avg in city)

20 cars per camera

5% chance per car

5C * 20CPC = 100

100 * 0.05 = 5

So that's, on average, 5 stolen cars per poll for example, with defaultish GRIDWATC settings, and modified CDF settings. The default poll rate is ~1.5s, so one scan every 1.5 seconds. You can also try bumping that in the INI to say 2s or 3s, which should help too.

This was super helpful as I was struggling with the settings as well. It would be cool to see some recommended settings for the CDF ini that is realistic from someone who has it perfect.

I’ve just taken this mod out my game as it’s far to much going on like every 5 secs getting hits and no update to fix this. Would of been a good mod except for the high frequency of hits

Sorry to hear that.

Did you try customizing the INIs of GRIDWATCH and CDF? If so, what did you change? In GRIDWATCH you can drastically change the hit frequency by lowering the ReadChance and Raising the ScanInterval. The frequency issue isn't something to be fixed in code, it's just that the mod is honest. I'll see what I can tweak internally, though.

thanks man....maybe if you bring out a update so that hit rate would be like 1 hit every 40 secs or every 1 min

This is a great mod, I simply recommend, based on user issues, simply modify your INI in the next update to give a better experience to those who have issues with it. In other words, instead of having the users need to modify the INI themselves, make it so the next update has an updated INI to have better presets that correspond to users' typical want.

A simple suggestion in order to make people happier, but I do think this mod is great, it's very realistic, and gives a little bit more "traffic stop/traffic" scenarios unlike 99% of callout packs.
Good work man, keep it up.
