NewsHeli – LSPDFR Plugin by Yasd
NewsHeli adds a news helicopter to police pursuits. By default, it joins the chase 30 seconds after the pursuit starts (this delay is fully customizable).

Optional custom dispatch sounds can play when the helicopter arrives and when the pursuit ends.

A news van is also available (toggleable), which follows the suspect’s vehicle about 40 seconds into the pursuit (also customizable).

The INI file allows you to configure these key settings.
The XML file lets you customize which vehicles and peds are used.

NewsHeli is a remastered version of NewsHeliPursuit by Albo, with the goal to:
    - make it open-source https://github.com/yasd2/NewsHeli
    - offer greater customization
    - include more features

HeliView - a side feature enables a gta news camera! - NEW!

With a keypress you can toggle this camera and follow the chase from the view of a helicopter! Definitely worth checking out!
You can choose the camera type between police, news style or random.
You can customize the appearing text with the news overlay.

You can also jump between different suspects. Make sense if one is running on foot and another speeding in a vehicle.

Installation
Open the NewsHeli zip file and drag and drop all files into your main gta folder.

A way to change what vehicles spawn (both vans and helicopters) would be cool, as I have custom vehicles perfect for it, but I can't use them because I can't change the default models. Also sometimes the helicopter spawns in as a military helicopter, which is funny but lore-breaking

It is in the XML! The current vehicle is the Annihilator with the Polmav livery. So it is kinda a militaryish type. But you can change it there a long with the van and even the peds. Yasd made this super customizable. The Maverick is probably gonna be one you might want to use. Look up all the helicopters and choose one you want or like you said, you have one that would be cool so ya! try it out

News don't always follow chases, maybe a percent chance for the helicopter / news van to spawn?

Hey, it appears the van causes a crash when the game tried to spawn it for some reason. It never has spawned the van for me in the past, but now it causes lspdfr to shut down. doesn't hard crash the game, just the lspdfr plugin

Gottcha, pls join my discord and ping me with the ragepluginhook.log attached, i will take a further look into that.
Are you using modded vehicles? Then there might be a chance it is caused by it.

I am using modded vehicles yes. But I will try and replicate the crash and get you a log

something is causing the crash, I know it's related to this plugin and dlc_news, something like that. When I start talking in grammar police, the game freezes immediately, a black screen appears or crashes altogether. I removed the plugin and everything is fine.

Keep The F** Door Open: move it from gtav/plugins/lspdfr to gtav/plugins

Please remove AutomaticSirenCutout.

Unless that I can't really see an error, since my plugin only gets a active if a pursuit is starting.

Any plans to do a OnStar Vehicle Pursuit mod? there was one a long time ago.. but that mod was gone form the website
