Welcome to Combat Enhanced, a small plugin that adds a couple of useful features to your patrolday.

 

Combat Enhanced makes some changes to melee combat so that you don't always have to knock the suspect out to win the fight but also adds a few useful tools to long range combat.

  • Reworked Melee combat
  • -> Instead of having to rely on your taser you can now also go hand to hand without "killing" the suspect. If a suspect took enough punches he will now struggle and collapse before catching his breath again.
  • Arrest Suspects on the ground
  • -> If a suspect is laying on the ground (wether from being punched, tased, beanbagged or rammed from your vehicle) you will now have the option to get ontop the suspect and try to fight for an arrest. However the suspect will try to resist that.
  • Disarming shots
  • -> If you shoot a suspects weapon out of their hand (or make their hand unuseable) they will know drop their weapon and act accordingly. This also applies to them receiving thousands of volts from your taser.
  • Beanbag shotgun
  • -> A longer ranged alternative to your taser. The beanbag will knock a suspect down for a long time. However it is ineffective if said person is wearing bodyarmor.

  • Copy the contents of the Grand Theft Auto V folder into your main Grand Theft Auto directory (ex: .../steamapps/common/Grand Theft Auto V/)
  • -> (If installed correctly it should look like this: Grand Theft Auto V/plugins/LSPDFR/CombatEnhanced.dll)
  • Make sure to read the README file, especially if you are using STP!

  • The beanbag shotgun is given automatically once you go on duty. If you are using StopThePed, make sure to disable the RealisticWeaponSystem, otherwise StopThePed will remove it. You will find your beanbag in your inventory (Pumpshotgun MK2).
  • To arrest a suspect on the ground, just go close to him. A prompt will appear to press the InteractionKey (default Y).

Inside the .ini file you will find the entry "ArrestKey". This has to be a number! You can find out the meaning of each number and their corresponding keys via this link.

  • Added support for PolicingRedefined
  • -> There currently is a bug in PolicingRefedined that doesn't allow the Ped to be arrest properly via code. I added a workaround but that makes the Ped un-arrestable. Once the bug is patched I will make it work as expected

  • Added ability to disarm Ped's with well placed shots
  • -> If you are shooting the suspects gun/hand or if you tase them, they will now loose their weapon. Depending on the restiance percentage set inside the ini file, they will either give up, try fleeing or will just continue fighting you.
  • Added option to disable the changes applied to the melee combat
  • Added option to disable the disarming-shots system

 

Changes:

  • Increased duration of the ground arrest window.
  • -> Previously, the ped had to be laying flat on the ground to allow for the ground arrest. Most of the time he already got up before you had the chance to even press the key. This should make it much more fair to hit it properly.

  • Implemented additional crash prevention when using the ground arrest
  • Fixed bug allowing the player to groundarrest other cops
  • Fixed bug allowing the player to groundarrest other animals
  • Fixed bug allowing the player to groundarrest peds inside vehicles

  • Added shotgun firing sound when using the beanbag shotgun
  • Added shooting animation when using the beanbag shotgun

 

Bugfixes:

  • Previously when shooting a ped with the beanbag, all shots afterwards would always land on that ped no matter where you aimed. This has been fixed.
  • Peds will no longer stand idle until StopThePed kicks in after ground arrest. They will now properly play the cuffed animation while waiting
  • Player weapons will now be properly hidden while in the arrest animation
  • Fixed bug that made it possible to arrest animals via ground arrest

  • Added cuffsound when arresting someone on the ground
  • Added following .ini settings:
  • -> EnableBeanbag: If set to true, will give the player a beanbag functioning shotgun
  • -> BeanbagModel: Here you can change the weapon you want to use for the beanbag shotgun
  • -> ResistanceChance: Set the chance that a ped will resist the ground arrest (100: Will always resist, 0: Will never resist)

I can imagine that if it is a constant thing it would become very repetitive, especially in those who stream.  

You can set the resist chance inside the .ini so you can co trol yourself how often people resist or not

Having an issue where the bean bag shotgun fires correctly once, but every shot thereafter is just the animation without any sounds, projectiles, etc. Targets just fall down like ragdolls.

Love the mod but now for some reason every time i go to use the fuel pump and I press the button to grab the nozzle my game freezes.  Just used it last night and that wasn't happening then so not sure why that would just start to happen.  Any ideas?

Hey I love the bean nag add  on but the first shot of the pump will actually kill them with the real shells

Is there an in-game menu or anything that allows us to reduce the pursuit? It's like happening ever 2 minutes before the first chase. I would turn that off if I could too. Everything else looks fine, just the pursuit.

I think I am confused by this question.  "reduce the pursuit"?   I didn't realize Combat Enhanced had a pursuit event.  Maybe I am missing something with the new Combat Enhanced update??

None of my plugins offer a pursuit or change anything about pursuits

maybe? but for some reason, the minute I installed your callouts. I end up having to pursuits.

So in order to use the beanbag shotgun you cannot use realistic weapon system at all?

If anything, the groundarrest is probably eating your FPS since I have to constantly check for the closest NPC, the rest of the features barely do anything

Is it normal for the suspect to get up and walk away temporarily and then be cuffed? This seems to happen 9 out of 10 when I try to "ground arrest" someone during a foot pursuit.

Depending on your settings and wether you use StopThePed it's normal yes.

 

For developers, STP is very unfriendly and doesn't offer much for other devs to play with. I have to do around 3 workarounds to get a ped recognized as cuffed. For me the ped will be cuffed and uninteractable for ~3 seconds before STP recognizes the ped as cuffed.

Suspects are just casually walking away after successfully cuffing/arresting them from the the ground with error thrown for Object reference not set to an instance of an object… may be wrong, but it seems the issue from previous version still persists but you’re just managing to prevent a crash. 
 

EDIT: Ahh, it was because I didn’t set arrest key. You have it set up to have two elements and the arrest key is actually executing the core function of the plugin to change the state of NPC to arrested. I’m correct as the previous version I’d also left the field blank causing the crash that is being caught now— my apologies.

 

Either that or it’s just the case both do the same thing and you’re forcing controller users to pick a binding based on the meta file which in my case I edited to remove B (save room for key bindings using XPadder) so I can’t use it. Please have it so you can leave it blank on controller for people who use keyboard emulation software. Many thanks.

Great plugin! Adds a touch of realism to LSPDFR. Especially arresting off the ground after tasing. However, sometimes the suspect may stand up during the arrest on ground animation, but that may be unrelated to the plugin. Overall, amazing plugin!

Sadly doesnt work. Keeps crashing w STP installed (everytime i use Dpad right to normally stop a person it crashed eventhough i followed the read me)

I don't know if this mod has been discontinued or if I messed up the download process but whenever I arrest somebody through the ground sequence, I am never able to interact with them afterwards. I only have this plugin and LSPDFR installed and would really appreciate any sort of advice on how to fix this.
