Better Handling

Currently in version 1.0.3

Details:

This is a custom handling.meta file for emergency vehicles. The file aims to make emergency vehicles operate in a more realistic manner. Specifications have been made accurate while at the same time enjoyable for in-game usage. This was a personal handling file I utilized for my game, but one I no longer work on. So, don't expect any anymore updates or vehicle additions unless there are significant issues. Enjoy!

It does work at all. I have take the preset handling from your file and put it where you told in the README and after I did change the handlingID in the vehicle.meta file with the right name and in game it didn't change anything at all.

Hmm interesting. First I would verify that my file properly installed by opening the handling.meta in OpenIV and verifying it says Better Handling at the top. If that's the case, the handling should work if you've modified your vehicles.meta file with the according handling lines. Keep in mind this handling file won't change the audio of the vehicles or work on DLC vehicles unless using the Raw Handling.

Yup it says better handling at the top when I open the handling.meta file. I have change all my HandlingId in the vehicles.meta to match with the right vehicles that you have modified in handling.meta. I have put the preset handling file. I didn't see any change. All my car does burnout as before...

What vehicles are you trying to use? Tahoe, Explorer, etc. I'll verify it within my game as well.

I have tried with Explorer 2020, FPIS 2016, Charger 2018 and a Tahoe 2021, none of them have the handling that you showed in your preview video unfortunately.

I'm honestly stumped. I deleted my handling.meta and installed the one directly from the download, along with redoing my vehicles.meta. The handling file still works for me, so it might be an installation issue. I've posted some pictures of installation just in case, but I'm not sure what else it could be.

I still don't understand either 😕 I've take a look on your pic and I have done the exact same process... that's weird.

Are you using a seperate DLC for your vehicles? if you are, you might have a handling.meta in that folder that overrides the better handling one.

For example, all my emergency vehicles are in Grand Theft Auto V\MODS\update\x64\dlcpacks\BC instead of patch28ng... and BC has it's own meta files.

Would you maybe think of adding in the base 3.7/3.3L engine for the FPIU? Or do you know how to make the acceleration for the FPIS a tad slower to replicate the engine being in use by the FPIU and the braking a bit better? After doing some research, the 2020 FPIU vs 2018 FPIU are similar enough that they can share the same acceleration and deceleration stats.
