[Spotlight/Hybrid] Transit Police CVPI 1.0.0

(6 reviews)

12 Screenshots

Remember to follow the file in the top right corner. Additional vehicles will be added to THIS download and not separately.

A 2011 Ford Crown Victoria used by the Los Santos Transit Authority or Transit Police. The Los Santos Transit Police is the nations largest Transit Police Agency, rivaled only by the NYPD and LCPD.

Spotlight Mod Compatibility

This vehicle as many many functions, the biggest of which is the compatibility to the Spotlight Mod by alexguirre. This allows the spotlight to be rotated in game. This is not required to use the model but drastically improves the in-game experience. Additional features are in the ReadMe and in the posted screenshots. This is the first car im aware of to be released publicly with this function.

Hybrid Lighting (ELS and Non-ELS)

This vehicle uses hybrid lighting. This means it uses both ELS and Non-ELS to create a realistic lighting setup. It is extremely encouraged to use the included ELS.xml file. The xlm is also set up to properly imitate the Tomar Scorpions chaotic flash pattern. Altering the file may yield weird results as the two depend on each other. In addition, the vehicle is 'equipped' with a rear cutoff in stage 1.

Moveable MDC

The MDC has the function to open and close by using NUMPAD 5 and NUMPAD 8. No additional mods required for this function.

LoJack (Extra 10)

Extra 10 is a toggable LoJack and accompanying system on the console.

Easy Installation (Add On)

Option 1 (LML)

Included in the Download and by selecting the option on the side.

Option 2 (OpenIV Package Installer)

Also included in the download, simply run the installer.

Please install the ELS.xml file (transitcvpi.xml) into your ELS folder.

If you encounter any install issues, please message Chief1234 or comment below.

Hey, first off. I absolutely love this CVPI! It provides more realism with the MDC being able to move and the light box actually working. However, i noticed on the push bar that there's only one light. Is there supposed to be two? Again great car!

The singular light on the front bar is called a Traffic Pre-Emption Device or similarly known as Opticom. It comes in many different forms some using a strobe light (light depicted in my model), infared, and GPS. When its activated it sends a signal to controlled access gates (like gated communities or entrances to city/state property) and traffic lights equipped with it. This signal then allows them to take priority either in the form of changing the light green and 'holding' it or opening the gate. Many police departments don't use it but it is very common with the fire department. Here's a few pictures below that represent the strobe version in real life applications. It comes in many different forms. I added some text to explain where they are. LMK if you have anymore questions. image.thumb.png.b0fde3dad852d0aad4707afcf3b092da.png

I just used one of the Unity Spotlights from DEV Resources. You have to setup the car properly to use the spotlight as a weapon turret and change the handling.meta to account for the weapon as a spotlight.

Could you make a tutorial on it?

Hey, I'm setting up my own vehicle with a spotlight. How did you get your spotlight emissive to activate with the spotlight key? Mine activates the extralight in the headlight housing, not the spotlight extralight. I have the spotlight set to extralight_3, but I'm at a dead end. Can you provide some insight for me? 😄

Hey, I’m not going to have access to my computer til probably tomorrow night or later. Try making the extra light a child of the spotlight dummies in ZMOD. I’m not entirely sure that’s what I did as I haven’t touched this file in a while and the spotlight turret thing is already too complex in an of itself lol. Tbh I attribute getting to to work more to luck than skill lol.

Ill open up my files hopefully tomorrow night and try to get a definitive answer for ya!

I fixed it! I changed the spotlight emissive object to extralight_1, and changed the other extralight to 3, and it works flawlessly.
