LSPD in the 80's [ELS] DRO3 1.0.0

Hi,

can you explain to me, why the marked lights do not work?

First it was okay, then it broke, I reinstalled everything (vehicles files, carvations and carcols, ELS). 
Thank for help

save the carcols file onto your desktop, then you can open it with notepad.

Open and what....? 

I paste carcols into mods \ update \ update.rpf \ x64 \ data from my dekstop.

I can also see that the size of carcols (mod) is much larger than the original carcols - is that supposed to be?

From the looks of the screenshot, you were trying to open the carcols file. In order to do that you need to export it and open it with notepad or notepad++. If you add anything to the file, yes, it will be bigger than the default carcols file, because you've added to it. I responded to your screenshot, because from my guess, it look like you were trying to open it to modify it. But if you're trying to open it, just to open it, I don't know how to help. But, if the light on the Diplomat are not working, then make sure that the correct carvaritions is installed, and is installed to the correct path. If it is, Look at the "sirensettings" for the Diplomat in the carvariations file. Check the number in the siren setting. Go back to the carcols file you exported to your desktop. Press Ctrl+F and search for sirens. Look for the "siren ID" that matches the diplomats sirensetting. Should be "13." Try changing the number to "8513." Save it, re-import it back to openIV. Now go back to the carvariations file, look for the Diplomates sirensettings, change it to 8513. Save it. Open the game try it. If it doesn't work, undo everything you did.

Hi there one off the best mod's ive downloaded but i need your help !!!! Mod works great i'm over the moon but just wondering when i have the siren on and the lights are working just wondering if there some way two make them brighter they seem dim in my game ???

yea i've tryed that but it still not working police 1, police 2 do work but then police 3 and sheff cruiser doesn't work. you can just see it moving around but no lights flashing !!!!

Try changing the glass texture on the vehicle in your trainer (if you use SNT ) to NONE.

Well i now have a bunch of old 80s style police vehicles from a bunch of add on vehicles pack i downloaded. On top of that i downloaded the 80s movie siren pack. But I am still following this. For some reason i kinda miss using ELS but it messed up my game.

Hey there, still having trouble? Cause that happened to me as well, when i copied the carcols.ymt from the downloaded file and into openiv or that location, and i tried opening it, i got the same error. Basically apoundofapples is wrong, that error has nothing to do with the file size or whatever he told you. After you had replaced your carcols.ymt, and you got the error, it became corrupt and openiv can't open it now. So what i do is, i go to the original location of carcols.ymt which of course if you forget is update\update.rpf\x64\data then i extract the file to either my desktop or my downloads folder. After that, i go back to the mods\update\update.rpf\x64\data location, right click on carcols.ymt(make sure Edit is enabled). Then click on Replace, once you have done that, go to the location where you extracted carcols.ymt, click on it and press open when prompted to. Now you'll have the original carcols.ymt back in the mods section. This is why i never ever edit my carcols.ymt, i leave it as is. And if my lights end up box shape, then what i do is i find the carvariations.meta or .ymt in the search box in openiv, same with the carcols, then i do some editing to those on the certain vehicle that has the box shape lights. Then after i'm done, i click on Edit to disable it. Close up openiv, launch gta v and see if what i edited worked or not, if it did, good, if it did not then try again til you have it the way it should be. I hoped this helped you out.

I think I was misunderstood. I wasn't saying the carcols file was too big. I was saying if you were to add anything to the carcols file, the carcols file itself will be bigger. I was just pointing out that the carcols in your download file is bigger the the original un-modded file. Sorry for the confusion.

So, here’s the thing. I have only downloaded this once. Haven’t had time to try again, but I’m pretty sure it downloaded the 70s pack instead lmao. Because I have the two lights on the roof and not the actual lightbar so idk wtf happened lol

yo what do you do with the xml files it dosent say in the instructions

allright im using ELS now but the lights still flash with gray sometimes, is there a fix for this

Cool pack, my only problem is getting ELS to work, only if we could find a way to turn ELS into DLS since both use xml files as well.
