This simple file will stop AI from panicking and attacking you when you want to put out a fire. This is especially useful when you want to be a fireman in Grove area, this way no-one will shoot at you.

INSTALLATION:

Put the weapons .meta at mods/upadate/update.rpf/common/data/ai

Make sure you tuned EDIT MODE on.

Not sure if it works with all guns, but it might though, add Silenced tag at weapon tag, just find a gun you want with find feature and just add Silenced with other tags.

I installed this but still get attacked.  I just started the campaign, the last mission completed was Franklin and Lamar.  Is this likely to be a result of my progress in the campaign?

I don't think so, it shouldn't have anything to do with the campaign mission, just check the meta file at line 13257 at the weapon flags there should be Silenced flag, as show below and make sure you have installed it correctly and at the correct path.

Hey, I appreciate you responding.  Yeah, I installed a 100% save and it still happened.  I looked in OpenIV at the Weapons.meta and the silenced flag was gone.  I dunno what I did wrong but I installed it again and People aren't coming down from the mountain to stab me everytime I put out a fire anymore.  Thanks for finding a solution and making this file, its a lifesaver in this game.  Literally.

I could be because I am using an old version of GTA V before the latest update try to extract the weapons.meta from the original update folder and try with the other file.

I don't think it has anything to do with you using an older version of GTA V.  I probably forgot to turn on edit mode in OpenIV or something like that the first time I tried installing this file.  Regardless, it works fine now.

Hi,

I think because of the Dec 2021 update the weapons files were changed and this doesn't seem to work for me anymore?

Many thanks.

I still use same file on new version and eveything works. Must be something else. Make sure you have turned on 'Edit mode'. Simple but common mistake.

Happy New Year.

Too common, especially when making lots of changes and testing in-between. Thanks will reinstall and try again. 🙂

Happy New Year

@andy22296hey, any chance you could add a guide on how to do it when one has already modified the meta file?
