Spitfire7's Realistic Vehicle Bullet Damage mod 1.0

SPITFIRE7's Realistic Vehicle bullet damage mod.

I got tired of the cars always blowing up after a small amount of bullet hits.

Not realistic at all!!!

I wanted to be able to do the scene from Terminator 2 and blow the heck out

of police cars and other cars without an explosion.

Now you can in this mod the realistic way!

Now the car will still blow up from Rockets, grenades, etc.

as well as a whole lot of bullets for a long time, but this doesn't come fast.

IMPORTANT: This is not compatible with EFLC. If you can find a handling editor compatible with EFLC, then this same concept would still apply and work for that I assume.

There are two ways of doing this. The easiest way and the pretty easy way

* Easiest way:

(Note: In this way all of your car settings and handling settings will now be semi different and like how I have mine.)

(I recommend this way for someone who 1. hasn't made many handling corrections, 2. New to mods.)

(If you wish to keep all your custom handling settings, do the other way of installing.)

1. Go to your GTAIV main directory usually here (C:Program FilesRockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IVcommondatahandling)

Always make a back up copy of the file you are going to replace.

2. Just drag and drop my Handling file into your data folder and replace.

This will replace all of your vehicles handling as well as damage specifications.

* Pretty Easy way: (This way will not change your custom handling settings, but will only change the Weapon damage on vehicles)

1. Save a backup copy of your handling file. (C:Program FilesRockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IVcommondatahandling)

2. Open the Handling Editor (Not mine, I am only making it easier for you) I have provided for you or

Download GTAIV Handling Editor here ---> http://www.gta4-mods.com/tools/gta-iv-handling-editor-f1825

3. Open handling Editor, select Load button at bottom,

find handling file (C:Program FilesRockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IVcommondatahandling),

select Open. If you want just specific cars individually but not all to have

this Realistic Bullet Damage mod, then continue reading into the next step.

If you want ALL cars to have my Realistic Bullet Damage mod then skip to step 5.

Now at the top Vehicle ID:, find the car which you want to edit. Then go to the

damage tab at the top. Type in 0.08 in the Weapon Multiplier box.

4. Test to see if you like the results. If so and you want to make all cars like this go to step 5.

If you dont like it just put in your defult numbers that you had before or put in your backup copied handling file.

5. Now the fastest way to make all cars have this is, go to the Misc tab at the top.

6. Near the bottom right it says Set All.

*In the first box select WeaponDamageMulti.

*To the right of that box find and select All

*third box select Equal

*fourth box type in 0.08

*Then hit Apply

Now every car should have my Realistic Bullet Damage mod and be much more durable and realistic and allow you to shoot

at it for a long time without it blowing up. This makes for a much more realistic

gameplay and for a fun chase.

7. Check your other cars by going to the Damage tab. Where it says Weapon Multiplier

it should now read 0.08 in all cars. Check other cars by the Vehicle ID: drop down tab at the top of the menu.

Enjoy your REALISTIC Terminator rampage!!!

Mod discovered and edited by SPITFIRE7. I took the time and research to

find the best and most realistic settings for this modification the hard way.

Handling Editor has made this much easier for us all.

I did not make GTAIV Handling Editor and take no

responsibility for any damage to your game. ALWAYS MAKE BACKUP COPIES.

Enjoy.

Okay good to know.

It'd be too complicated to set all of the cars manually to have a 0.08 value, especially when you have a modded handling file with values spread all over the place non-uniformly. Plus EFLC has extra vehicles so its a daunting task.

You can try to find a handling editor out there that is compatible with EFLC and this same concept would still apply for that editor.

I did. But there's no such handling editor.

They stay for a long time if you are looking at it and in the area.

Thanks for this mod! I have an issue though... I can't seem to change the damage number to 0.08. I did as written in the text file and it doesn't change... However, I tried with 9999999 and it worked... So, I am confused :/ Any ideas on this issue? Thanks in advance :)

Hey, I don't have the steam version so I am not sure where the common/data/handling file is.  Anyone else with Steam can you help?
