  1. Steam should install it in a totally different spot to the disc version so you shouldn't have to move anything around. I actually have a steam copy installed on my C: and another steam copy installed on my E:, one with all my mods and one that is fresh. I run the C: copy through the launcher as admin bcause it has my mods, and when I launch the game through steam it will use my E: copy with no mods.
  2. PoliceHelper is still important for controlling the other vdh scripts (coroner, tow service), plus vehicle requests, bait car, barriers and road cones, evidence collection, etc. If you've installed lcpdfr 1.0 and you can't find a use for the latest version of policehelper, you're doing it wrong. (differently)
  3. User guide doesnt seem to mention a key for helicopter backup unless I'm blind and ctrl-f-ing the wrong things.
  4. Have you added them to the lcpdfr 1.0 config file? Not sure if that will work or not. Police3, police4 and policeb should all work for traffic stops.
  5. I just had a couple of minor questions about the gameplay of LCPDFR 1.0 and I didn't really think they merited their own thread, but didn't want to post them in someone elses thread. Basically, this is just a thread where people can post quick questions and answers as we all learn how to play the new version. To get the ball rolling... Does anyone know how the roadblock feature works? Do you just request in during a pursuit and the AI will figure out the rest? Does anyone know how to request a helicopter backup during a pursuit? I couldn't see the key command in the user manual. Please do not post technical support questions or those related to game crashes in this thread. This is for gameplay only.
  6. Initiated my emergency warning lights after observing a sports bike fail to stop at a red light on Broker/Dukes Expressway northbound (towards the airport from Firefly/Hove Beach). The suspect appeared to come to a stop but as soon as I had pulled up behind him and gotten out of my car with my partner, the suspect took off immediately. I went straight back to my car and called the pursuit in over the radio. The suspect absolutely flew all the way up the expressway toward Dukes and the Bohan turnoff. And I mean that as literally as possible, a number of backup units had responded and were in chase but we could barely keep up. He was really putting the bike through its paces, weaving in and out of traffic. It would have all gone well for him too, had he not tried to double back on us at one point when I managed to break away from the main pursuit group and block him with my vehicle. I was just really impressed with how hard the suspect tried to get away, got the blood pumping most definitely.
  7. Okay so after today's efforts I fixed a couple of problems and may have generated a few extras... Unfortunately it won't be ready to play with lcpdfr 1.0 just yet but hopefully in the near future.
  8. Well actually, being from New Zealand doesn't actually mean that time moves faster for you, it's approx 15 hours 40 minutes away from the time of this post for everyone.
  9. DLer is now doing a bit of testing and maybe some liveries + screenshots for me, so I'll leave it up to him to report back with what he thinks of it and whether or not it has all the features he would have liked. Really, the marked versions are like 95% done, the unmarked verisons are around 70%.
  10. 24 hours to go! And it looks like LCPDFR 1.0 will coincide with a sale on GTA4 on steam.
  11. Mate I'll PM you the WIP versions if you want to do some liveries and pretty screenshots. Only thing is that the slciktop verison still has ctd issues.. Probably fixable today. If not I'll just put out the marked ones.
  12. Im interested to see how the LCPDFR roadblocks will work, particularly in comparison to the ones in PoliceHelper. Aaaand I really want to know how the ai police use of force works, what makes them choose between fists/baton/taser/gun.
  13. I think sergiyj has misunderstood what you are after. As it is possible through script mods to strobe the headlights and indicator lights it would probably also be possible to strobe the reverse lights. You'll just have to see if any scripters are interested in making such a mod though.
  14. Shouldnt the middle pic link to Nicolai's video? e: oh no it's linked on the home page. Super cool!
  15. Interesting choice to do a skin for the South African Hilux and not the NSW, QLD or WA ones, but good nonetheless to see some Aussie stuff.
  16. I think calling in that much backup without crashing in the end there was just to make us jealous about how good your pc is :(
  17. To figure out the camel one, do the similar thing that you did when you found the grinch one. Interesting pics (terrible resolution!), some exciting features to soon be upon us!
  18. Resolved one issue and now I think I just need to fix up the collisions and add in the illuminating PC and they should all be ready. I don't have much in terms of liveries though.
  19. Unmarked version is currently being a bit annoying and I've just realised I've forgotten to enable the police computer lights so I'll have to quickly go back and redo those. Maybe this week.
  20. Very interesting. Hopefully you can nail the effect but I'll definitely be keeping an eye on what you come up with.
  21. It'd be to do with collisions (which determine how 'tough' the glass is) and material setup (which tells the game it is glass).
  22. Yeah Otaku is right. In gta4 there is only headlight_l and headlight_r. They will activate at certain times during the day. If the player presses H they will turn on 'highbeams', all this does is activate headlight_l and headlight_r if they aren't already on and it also makes the 'cones of light' that they project brighter and larger. No additional parts are 'activated' by pressing H. In gta5 though there are separate vehicles parts for headlights and highbeams, and that's why you can have the headlights on and have foglights or spotlights that only turn on when the high-beams are active. It's not possible to achieve that in gta4 though. Some vehicles have things like takedowns not attached to anything so that they are always activated and glowing. Others have them attached to the headlights so they will only be on at night or when the player turns on the highbeams during the day (because that activates the headlights). On the topic of particular lightbar setups though, I don't really have plans to do such things. The model will be released unlocked with the setups I mentioned above in the scraps of free time I manage to make for myself between work/real life/assassin's creed 5 (which is awesome).
  23. Use the pen tool, add some anchor points and play around with them to make nice curves, join them up and right click 'make selection' then fill your selection with your desired colour.
  24. Ah the one with the two lights near the sun visor? That was a custom one I did for another member. I think I have it on 4shared somewhere... It's probably this http://www.4shared.com/rar/1FHI4VNM/Vapid_Slicktop_II_by_Ekalb.html? But it's an old model and may have some of the bugs I later corrected.
