  1. Cool story/information! Wow, it looks like this car was part of the patrol fleet in 1970. Used as private vehicle and donated/reused by Seattle PD around 2006. Just a quick note, you mentioned the officer (Jim Ritter) as the owner. From the video and from the article, it states that this vehicle (along with others) were donated to a museum. Quote from the article: "The car itself came from Nebraska. A retired city worker gave the museum complete records of the fleet from that era, allowing Ritter to verify the car was indeed part of the Seattle fleet in 1970."

  3. This is happening because your PC is trying to use a resolution that is not compatible with the TV. Try using a smaller or possibly larger screen resolution. You should be able to find this in the display properties on your computer. Windows 7 - Right-Click Empty space desktop, select "display resolution" and adjust the resolution for that display.
  4. I am going to second this, just recently picked up a set and they are enjoyable.

  8. Glad to see this all worked out and you were able to get the skins you wanted(?). In the future, though, you might just consider re-asking your old topic: Instead of creating a duplicate topic, it helps keep the forums tidy and cleaner.
  9. Depends if these were deleted and written over or just deleted and not written over by windows. If they were just deleted and not yet written over you can try one of the programs listed below. Otherwise it maybe rather hard to recover those files. PC Inspector File Recovery 4.0 http://filehippo.com/download_file_recovery/ Recuva 1.43.623 http://filehippo.com/download_recuva/ If you are having problems with recovering data from drive that may have deleted files or the data is corrupted. You may try a program called Spinrite. http://www.grc.com/sr/spinrite.htm This program is run from a .ISO image (burn the ISO to a disc with a program like imgburn, then have the system boot from the iso). Spinrite works wonders on recovery data from a faulty drive (bad sectors, disk failure, etc). It may take a few to tens of hours to full recovery but it can work miracles on damage/failing hard drives. What do you mean by messed up?
  10. Winrar is not free nor is it open source. Winrar has a cost of around $25 USD, downloading it and using it in a fashion outside of the EULA is privacy and that is bad.
  11. Try 7-zip, it is free & open-source. http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
  12. 450 watt plus power supply seems a little weak. If possible you might look into getting a SSD and/or a better GPU. Regardless it should run okay.
  13. Please provide hard drive details, you can use this disk tool here (be sure to have ad-block plus running on the site) or you can use another method to find the disk info. http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskInfo/index-e.html "Operating system: Windows7 Unknown (6.1.0.0 Build: 7600) Service Pack:" Why is your operating system "Uknown"? Not be rude, but did you try searching the FR forums or google on this. It is highly possible that someone else has encountered and fixed this issue. Do you have any modded vehicles? Have you tired a fresh install? If someone does not reply, it may be possible that they do not know what is the issue or how to fix.
  14. Here are some other threads about this:
  15. News Article: http://www.bbc.co.uk...-wales-19828904 Apparently they have a suspect in custody. Det Supt Reg Bevan urged anyone who has had contact with Mark Bridger to make contact with police. April Jones: Timeline of search Local volunteers plea over April Bishop on fears for girl April's mother pleads for help Police searching for April Jones have renewed an appeal over suspect Mark Bridger's movements, as they are given more time to question him. Detectives, who have until 5pm on Friday to hold him, are dealing with a "vast amount of forensic analysis". The search for April, five, is in its fourth day since she went missing from Machynlleth, Powys, on Monday evening. PM David Cameron said it was every family's nightmare and urged anyone with information to speak to police. The prime minister, whose late son Ivan had cerebral palsy, said the fact that April has the condition only made it worse. Social media Volunteers gather to search in the village of Corris At a news conference on Thursday, Det Supt Reg Bevan, of Dyfed-Powys Police, who is leading the inquiry, said: "We need information from the public which may help us find April. "In particular we are looking to trace the movements of Mark Bridger between 6.30pm on Monday and 3.30pm on Tuesday and any sightings of him between these times. "In addition, if anyone had contact with him between these times, we would urge you to come forward. "By contact I mean any contact - including face to face, telephone, text or social media. Mark Bridger and his blue Land Rover Discovery - registration L503MEP "We also need information regarding the movements of the blue Land Rover Discovery registration L503 MEP between Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon." 16. If it is just a video card, you could find one that ships a model with just on-board and it yourself. You can try: http://www.powernotebooks.com/Custom-Built-Desktop-Computers-cat-205.html Or possibly http://www.pugetsystems.com/ I just checked both of them and you can order a setup with just on-board graphics. Anything behind add-in stuff (video card, extra hard drives, etc) becomes a liability issue. For example, you may know that your graphics card is good. However, for all they know your graphics card causes major issues (just using this as example). Different analogy: Most auto repair shops (unless you are really good friends or they are hard up for cash) will not let you bring in your own parts. Why? They are new in the box? Well the reason why is similar to the reason why a PC builder wouldn't let you add parts. They can not know for sure where those parts came from or what condition they were in before. Since they are selling you a service/product they would be responsible for it and it causes liability issues. For example: Going to a service station and having them preform a brake job with your provided parts. If the shop agrees, they are taking on the liability of the job and could be found liable in court if something happened. Anyways, I hope you get the point and understand. Disclaimer: I am a happy customer of powernotebooks and I have only read (not used) good things about pugetsystems.
  17. My Apologies for the delay in getting back to you, as the times I tired to post FR was down or having issues. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was speaking of trolling, as in someone was maybe pulling your chain and seeing if you would go buy a system off craigslist or ebay. I would highly suggest reading the reviews and researching as much as you can before buying. Couple of reads: http://www.pugetsystems.com/reviews.php http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Alienware Personal notes: A little background before I go any further with my notes. I have been a freelance I.T. specialist for the past eleven years. Working with individuals and small(+2) to medium-small(under 100 employes) sized companies. During these years, I have built and maintained a little over a hundred custom built systems. Throughout this time, I have tired most of the brands and a lot of models. The key is to have a good system is making sure you have quality parts and are very through with researching of the parts/company. That being said, Dell/Alienware get the lowest bidders to send them white label or OEM prodcuts (motherboards, processors, ram, video cards, power supplies, etc) and then Dell/Alienware re-labels what they can and assembles the machinces. They then offer support for the systems. Puget and Powernotebooks, do exactly the same except they offer better service and higher quailty products. When you buy from Powernotebooks, they ship you all of the discs you need and you actually know what motherboard is in your system, without having to lookup the dell number and then finding it that way.
  18. I am not sure if trolling is going here or not, but do not buy a computer off of E-bay or craigslist. You are not sure what you will get, sure the price may be good but it is hit and miss on the quality of the product. If you are looking to have one custom built for a fair price, with quality hardware and good support. I suggest trying one of these companies. Powernotebooks, despite the name they do custom built desktops and notebooks. I have used personally twice for notebooks and have several recommended acquaintances that were more than please with their service and product. They also offer very competitive pricing for upgrades, almost at cost or newegg/amazon cost. Website: http://www.powernotebooks.com/Custom-Built-Desktop-Computers-cat-205.html Reviews: https://www.resellerratings.com/store/PowerNotebooks Next up is Pudget Computers, while I have not personally used these guys but have read great things about them for the past few years. Website: http://www.pugetsystems.com/ Reviews: https://www.resellerratings.com/store/PowerNotebooks Whoever you use or purchase from, just do your research. Do not rely on just one source to provide your input on what is or is not good. Best of luck in hunting. Kind regards, Chevyman
  19. A few different options from Newegg.com not sure if these are the cheapest prices but here are a couple of options. Gaming on a laptop is not the greatest as laptops generally can not be upgraded and tend to overheat when gaming. Caution: ASUS on occasion has great products and sometimes cutting edge technology. However, when it comes to tech support, theirs is almost non-existing. Based upon system requirements (link below) and your budget. The following notebooks should be adequate, not ideal but adequate to play. http://support.rockstargames.com/entries/479435-pc-system-requirements-for-gta-iv lenovo IdeaPad Z580 Notebook Intel Core i5 3210M(2.50GHz) 15.6" 6GB Memory DDR3 1600 500GB HDD 5400rpm DVD
  20. Yea, I know, I may be or have overacted (hence the /rant tag in my first post), I am just the over cautious type of person when it comes to online information.
  21. Remove the IP address from the public forums. Are you crazy? This should be covered in the "personal private information" clause that most forums have, in regards to not posting personal information about yourself or others. If you need to share with the moderators/admins to fix the issue, that is completely understandable and should be done via private communication (P.M./E-mail). Seriously, please remove that! /rant
  22. I have no idea what kind of protection you are taking about. You mentioned ASUS and that you did some research on this, any information you can provide would be helpful. If the computer is restarting, it sounds like too much power is being pulled or something else. There is just too little information at this time to assist. Did you build this PC or is a store buy? Possible to get the power supply make/model? Is this hooked up to an battery backup unit?
  23. What software are you using? When you looked it up, it didn't tell you how to fix it? I am not sure what power management you are talking about when it comes to restarting the computer. Most power management software for windows, will put your computer to sleep/hibernate or turn off items (monitor/usb/network). However, most of these power management tools will only kick on if your computer is idle (not being used). With the limited information I have, I am guessing it maybe a power supply related issue. As in your power supply is not providing enough power. Before you say that your PSU is a ### watt or higher, be sure to check the rating on the power supply as some are less efficient with power. So, in closing please provide more information as to what you found in your troubleshooting, along with additional system specifications (cpu, ram, motherboard, hard drive, video card, power supply, etc.) You can use programs such as speccy, cpu-z or dxdiag to find this information.
  24. Normally you can return a pc/laptop to Costco within 90 days for a full refund. I would recommended considering that as an option. Presently they do not have any decent systems on their site with a dedicated graphics card. On occasion they will have one with a decent dedicated graphics card, normally they will only offer these on their site and not in store. Just an FYI, good luck with your current setups and so forth.
  25. You can try Speccy or CPU-Z. http://www.filehippo.com/download_speccy http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html These both should be clean but use your own common sense and discretion with any downloads!
