  1. Where do I start? Finding the tutorials on a Google search all yield how to install sounds and not how to create them. If there are any tools, they're behind paywalls unable to be accessed by the public. I want to be able to create an engine sound from scratch and code it so it actually sounds like an engine and not an engine sound replacing a stock GTA one which is already scripted a certain way. Where do I begin to try and get more information on how to do this?
  2.    VinceKaufman reacted to a post in a topic: What happened to the modding community?
  3. I've been in and out of the GTA modding community for 17 years now, and it feels like there's been a major shift in the GTA modding community toward stifling creativity in the name of protecting creations (the term "mod theft" gets thrown around there) or stifling creativity behind a paywall. I understand that some folks would like to make a small buck or two making models and recouping losses for 3d models that get converted from scratch, but how is any future modeler going to learn how to create something on their own if a majority of models are locked and/or behind paywalls? At this point while I may be considered a GTA elder, I think it's important to highlight that some of the greats in this community started with models that were made by others and adding their own flavor to it. You have to start somewhere. Back in the day when gtapolicemods was still a functioning site, often we would work on other people's things so long as credit was given to the original authors. Now it's become an elitist jungle where new developers are limited as to what they can make. I don't get it.
  4. UPDATE: Emissives are working, but the lighting pattern is not. The goal is to do the painstaking task of getting 3 vehicles (CVPI/Charger/FPIU) rebadged as lore models (this is the only way staff will allow these on the FiveM server I am a part of) with working lightbars. Seems like setting the emissives up top on the material browser made them appear (not sure if the color lightbar will make them show up as well), but they're not flashing the way they should. I should also mention I am trying to make Otaku's Whelen Freedom work for all of these cars.
  5. I'm trying my damnedest to get any lightbar to work for car models for a fivem server. Unfortunately (as I'm finding out) the modding game has changed so much to the point where all I can use are developer parts since 99% of car models are locked nowadays. I am trying to use the whelen freedom II or any of the lightbars located on this website. The problem that I am having is that with that lightbar and everything else, nothing is mapped and is unfinished. Finding tutorials on trying to get lightbars working for FiveM/Non ELS is scarce. I am able to get dummies working in order to get the base lights to work but the emissives aren't appearing. Are there tutorials on how to get lightbars working just for GTA V in general? I'm running into a ton of roadblocks trying to get back into this developer scene again.

This took 3 attempts to even get it remotely sounding decent. This will replace your Franken Stange (btype2) engine sounds with a Dodge Challenger Hellcat. This sound is commonly used on FiveM servers for Gauntlet interceptors. THIS ONE HAS A LONG DIRECTORY. FOLLOW THESE STEPS EXACTLY AS THEY ARE WRITTEN. HOW TO INSTALL: - MAKE BACKUPS!!! - OpenIV must be in "edit mode" - update/x64/dlcpacks/mphalloween/dlc.rpf/x64/audio/sfx/dlc_halloween/musclecar_8_us_v8_halloween.awc - New -> Import Openformats -> Install "musclecar_8_us_v8_halloween.oac." Do the same for the NPC version ("musclecar_8_us_v8_halloween_npc.oac.") The readme says "NPC folder," don't do that. - Use ArchiveFix (you can find this in the Crown Victoria sound mod below). Drag and drop "dlc.rpf" from "mp_halloween" onto ArchiveFix.exe. - Load your game and see what you installed. Check your favorite FiveM servers or spawn "btype2" in singleplayer. SOUND DEMO:
  8. Did not. Tahoes still crashing. 18Charger is now just beeping a horn.
  9. 1. No 2. Yes (for addon vehicles, otherwise they will not work) 3. This is the only pack I have installed.
  10. Charger is included now! However, the 18charger is still yielding rotating red lights instead of the proper lighting as the rest of the cars. I also cannot spawn either tahoe. They crash the game and are both labeled 18tahoe when spawning with a trainer.
  11. Dammit I forgot the demo video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsEdMUUZRjE

Looking to beef up your Buffalo S sounds/Buffalo Police engines? This is the tried and true muscle car sounds that were iconic to the Need for Speed franchise in the 2000s. How to install: - MAKE A BACKUP OF "STREAMED_VEHICLES_GRANULAR.rpf" and "STREAMED_VEHICLES_GRANULAR_NPC.rpf!" - OpenIV must be in "edit mode" - x64/audio/sfx/STREAMED_VEHICLES_GRANULAR.rpf. "New -> Import Openformats -> Install "musclecar_3_us_v8.oac." Do the same in the NPC Folder for "musclecar_3_us_v8_npc.oac." This gets installed in x64/audio/sfx/STREAMED_VEHICLES_GRANULAR_NPC.rpf. - Use ArchiveFix to get the sounds to work ingame! - Load up the game and enjoy! If the game loads proper, your sound is installed properly. Demo:

So, You're looking for yet ANOTHER Federal Signal Smart Siren. This is being uploaded to LCPDFR.com as a result of content creators getting DMCA strikes on their VODs as a result of the default sirens being picked up as well as other siren sound mods muting VODs. This sound mod has rendered no issues as of yet for my twitch streams and is hopefully going to work for your game as well should you face issues. (Sound files are also added separately in here in case you have other sounds in your resident.rpf that you wish to keep, like car door sounds, other horns, etc. YOU DON'T NEED TO ADD THESE IF YOU'RE ONLY INSTALLING THE SIRENS) How to install: 1. OpenIV -> Edit Mode 2. x64 -> Audio -> sfx -> Resident.RPF 3. Install openformats (.oac) -> locate the vehicles.oac from this mod. You won't need openIV after this stage. 4. Use Archivefix to fix the resident.rpf file you just modified. Don't have Archivefix? I have it included in this sound mod: https://www.lcpdfr.com/downloads/gta5mods/audio/31180-keyboard-cops-cvpi-sound-mod-npc-add-on/ Launch singleplayer/fivem and test it out! Please message me if this mod is giving you DMCA strikes. The sounds come from people demonstrating the Smart Siren on youtube and are not from professional/royalty based sources. https://clips.twitch.tv/BashfulDeadHamAllenHuhu-SFqdxeF88bvw4_NZ (test for the siren)
  12. When you install this, you're installing it to work in FiveM by default.
  13. Update has been released. V3 might happen if I can find a clear clip of a police charger driving with exterior noises.
  14. Just dropped an update in the comments.
