I just wet myself... this looks absolutely fantastic. Whenever I can get my dang game to function properly, I'll be patiently awaiting this release. On a side note, Nic, what is your ENB setup? It looks beautiful.

Well now I have a new problem. The game ran last night, sluggish and whatnot but it at least ran. I go to try the game again this morning, without making any changes on my computer whatsoever, and now the game crashes at the loading menu with a "d3d9.dll error". I went back and recopied all of the ENB files again, same problem, so now I can't even get into the game. WTF...

I recently upgraded my computer by adding 8 more gigs of RAM, a new 2TB hard drive (program storage) and a new EVGA GTX670 FTW 4GB. I have everything up and running, got my graphics card tweaked for most of my games. However, now GTA4 runs like crap especially in LCPDFR. My previous card was a EVGA GTX560Ti and it ran smoothly, but even with the same exact graphics settings on the new card, its lags more, runs at a lower frame rate, screen tearing like crazy especially with ELS... I'm at a loss. I'm trying different commandlines but nothing's working. Any suggestions?

After getting a new video card and reinstalling W7, I wanted to look into using TBOGT as the host for LCPDFR on my computer. However, I can only find the main GTA4 directory for the primary game. Also, when trying to play either TLAD or TBOGT, Windows Live won't let me if I don't have an active internet connection, but the main game will play offline. Any suggestions?

I have a question. I'm not a noob with computers but I kind of am when it comes to video cards. I currently have a EVGA GTX-560Ti 1GB card installed and planned on upgrading to a GTX680SC 2GB, but I'm wondering if I should upgrade to a higher VRAM. I play all of my games at 1080, rarely do I go higher than that. Should I stick with the affordable 2 GB or wait and get a 4 GB?

They're called ENB's. You can find plenty of them on various GTA sites. There are a few here, plus a lot on gta4-mods.com.

I just had my first freeze-up with 2.3 last night, but it was about an hour into the game.

The only reason I would keep the PS3 is for the MGS series... I've been a fan ever since MGS came out in 1998. Since then I've played all of the games dating back to Metal Gear. However I've played them all numerous times and the last time I played one of them was when they re-released 2 and 3 for PS3. As for the Xbox, the only games that I'd possibly miss are the Halo and Forza series, and I've grown tired of those.

If it's 150,000 miles or less on it, and those are the only things needing to be fixed/replaced, then $1000 isn't bad at all. I'd have a professional mechanic take a look at it though. I wish I could find a nice CVPI for $1000, the cheapest I can find one around me is $2500 for a "decent" model.

I currently own two consoles, as well as my built PC. I have a PS3 (MGS4 Kojima Edition which was gunmetal gray) and an Xbox360 (Modern Warfare 2 TF-141 Edition), but ever since I built my PC a year ago I've spent most of my gaming time on here. I even sold GTA4 EFLC, Fallout 3 and Fallout NV for the Xbox so I could buy the PC editions, and the experience on all three are much better on PC. The last time I can honestly remember using either of my consoles is for Last.FM music while ironing my uniform. Every time I sit down to play a game on either console, I get bored within 15 minutes. However I can play on my PC and hours go by quickly. I'm also about to drop some money in upgrading to a GTX-680 2GB card and adding about another 8GB of RAM, possibly replacing my 500GB storage drive with a 1TB as well since I have a 64GB SSD for Windows only. Sure I could sell them if I'm not using them, but there might be downsides to that. I know some of you are hardcore gamers and I'd like your opinion on this matter.

So far so good. I did notice that it keeps doing the same firearm-related calls constantly, not much of a "random" set of calls like the previous versions.

Thanks guys. I decided to replace the Charger and CVPI with a base DSF CVPI non-ELS in both police slots, and the game seems to be running much smoother. I never noticed until I spawned Schaefft's Vic and the DSF Vic, side by side, the size difference. To be honest, the DSF model seems more accurate in size with the peds in the game, the original Vic seemed small for a "full size" sedan.

Thread bump, sorry. I PM'ed you about this, NB, but I want to see if anyone else has this issue. When the car is idling with ELS off, the car sits perfectly still. However, when you turn ELS on, it looks like the suspension compresses itself slowly, then jumps back to normal. Anyone else notice this?
