No error given, G R Displayed
I recently re installed my GTA 4 client, and after trying to start it using the launch application a window pops up titled G with only one letter appearing in the box: R. If anyone knows what this is and how to fix it, It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yellow and Blue sheriff skin
I was wondering if anyone had come across a yellow and blue striped sheriff skin. I know a lot of county's employ the exact same style changing only the name, and I was looking for one. I've attached an example.

Ridealongs
I've been on 20, the latest one this week. The fun thing about my 20th ridealong is it was 20 hours. 2 Full shifts, Day and swing. I had an absolute blast. Had to pay for 3 meals, but still had fun seeing the difference between beats. I've only rode with mountain town PD's outside of my explorer program, and I wouldn't take one back if I had the chance. As for some calls, some stand out. Fatal car accidents are always a little rough. I've been on a couple and they get real gorey real fast, especially when ambulances have to be dispatched out and are 5, 10+ minutes out. Being an explorer here means you go out to every call. One of the funniest calls I went out on was a cold suicide. We roll up to this house expecting to see some distraught mother finding her dead son in the bathroom, but it was actually a juvenile who called in about a MOVIE. Some funny traffic stops would have to be a slow speed pursuit with a Prius for about 5 miles. Dude was sober as a judge, nothing in the car, just "didn't see our lights" Another traffic stop we were doing radar up and down the main street, and another unit was off to the side of the road speed trapping. A car comes up to us and flashes his brights to warn us about the speed trap. (All the Tahoe's for this particular department are slicktops, so he didn't know we were a cop) We pull him over, and the dudes a cop for a big city department! Really bro? Another time we were speed trapping, and the chief sees us before we see him, and fly's down the road about 20 over. We get behind him all excited (first stop of the night) And he just turns on his lights and laughs. Another night I was going to state's "chiefs dinner" and on the highway an Accord rolls by about 10 chiefs doing 90. They all almost hit each other trying to pull him over, and he was D.U.I.

Ridealongs
I was curious as to how many fellow LCPDFR's are involved with ridealongs with their local departments? I'd love to hear some stories!

Favorite undercover Crown Vic
I've been tooling around with undercover/slicktop CVPI's, and I have to say Tim98's model left the best impression. ('?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>) What's your favorite undercover/slicktop CVPI to use in game?

Colorado skins are coming down.
It complicates things when you aspire to work for the department that's contacting you.

Colorado skins are coming down.
Mine were much more casual requests than what MostChameleon had to deal with, I believe. It was just a phone call and a visit for me, rather than a letter and news article. Me and him do share the common goal of working for the departments we have depicted, so I will definitely be complying with any requests I receive from anyone at the departments I upload files of. As for Denver, I would consider it a coincidence at this point. Never told them what the images I was collecting were even for. As for spiers, I don't mean to call him out, probably shouldn't have used his name, but my friend at Silverthorne watches his videos and that's how he put it to me. I enjoy his video's, they have their place as much as hard core realistic series do. ***JUST TO CLARIFY*** I have received no official word from any chief of police or city official regarding any of my skins. I was contacted by individuals I know and am friendly with. However in both cases they told me their C.O.P. abstained any request from the city, and apparently both want my work down. I respect your opinion. I posted this thread because it directly correlates to events another user in our community is facing, a topic that is now closed. As for the negative light, I am complying fully with the departments. Informing others that departments are taking action is a helluva lot better than removing the skins and vanishing into thin air, leaving everyone who requested work for me pissed off with no answers. The best way to go is generic liveries based off of themes, and it's where I am going now.

Colorado skins are coming down.
It appears MostChameleon isn't the only one having 'problems' with CO police departments. Both skin packs I released have come down, per request be each department. Yesterday I got a call from an employee of the Silverthorne police department I am friendly with, who supplied many of the images I used to create that skin pack. While he, and everyone else at the department, was relatively excited to see their skin concepts applied to vehicles not currently in their fleet, the city differs in opinion, asking the skins to not be available for public download. As my friend explained it over the phone, the city doesn't want to see someone like spierstheamazing stepping out of their cars and shooting up a bus for the world to see on youtube. I have always had a good relationship with the department, and plan on continuing it, so the files are in the process of coming down. Today the Glendale PD drove the block to my house and came a-knockin. They were not so creative. Again, I was told it was a similar situation, the PD really didn't have a problem with the skins, the city had a problem with the game. They requested any images, content, and files come off the internet, and discouraged me from keeping the files to share for private use. I was working on a super sneaky top secret project I hoped a lot of people would be surprised to see; Denver PD. I usually visit their fleet once a month to get updated pictures, and I was almost finished getting all the images I needed when they didn't return my call for my planned June visit. I have good relationships with all these departments, personally visited their fleets, and they all knew what I was doing, with maybe the exception of Denver. I have no fancy Cease and Desist order, and no news article about me, but I was personally contacted by these departments, or ignored in denvers case, to remove my content for public download. This doesn't appear to be a trend in the state, and probably highly unlikely in the country, however all works in progress have been suspended until I contact each department and get clearance to continue. As far as LCPDFR community goes, GPD, SPD, and DPD never discussed names.

MTen Skin Pack (WIP&REL) Thread
RELEASED: Silverthorne PD Please contact me via private message. Glendale PD WORKS IN PROGRESS [ALL CURRENT WIP's ARE SUSPENDED, PENDING CHIEF OF POLICE APPROVAL BY THEIR COORILATING DEPARTMENT] Dillon PD [20%] Image research done Mesa County Sheriff's Office (per request by him1250) [20%] Image research done, provided by him1250 Breckenridge PD [50%] Image research done fleet set Frisco PD [0%] Cherry Hills PD [70%] Image research done Fleet Set skins in progress Castle Rock PD [20%] Image research done Colorado State Parks [20%] Image research done ANY REQUESTS in the greater CO area? Feel free to contact me via PM. Requests usually take priority over any project I am working on myself. FAQ: -Why are you limited to just the greater Colorado area, and what is the greater CO area? The greater Colorado area includes any department in any state bordering Colorado. (Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska) I only take requests for these states because I prefer to travel to departments I am skinning in order to become familiar with their fleet, and for those I cant get to, I like to have a finished product that's close to home. -Do you require images for requests? For out of state requests, yes. As much as I would like to take out of state vacations on a weeks notice, I can not travel personally to every out of state department I get a request for in a timely manner. You will receive credit in the release for your assistance. -How quickly can you complete a project? That depends on the quality of work you would like. My sloppiest work has taken 3 days for a 3 car fleet. My most recent release (Silverthorne) is by far my most scrupulous work. It took over 3 months for a 3 car fleet, and that was with connections at the departments and visits to the station weekly. On average I can get to the department within 7 days to get image research, and assuming I can find the fleets models easily, I can skin a 3 car fleet in 6 to 14 days. You can expect a project to be released within 3 weeks of it being moved to the top of the list. -Can you skin specific/provided models? I prefer you leave fleet research up to me. That being said, if you want to see a specific car skinned, I have only a few guidelines. 1. If it is a locked model, it must be on LCPDFR. I need to contact the owner of the vehicle to see if (s)he feels like giving me the template. 2. I will not skin stolen models. 3. Templates are often backwards compatible. If I can not reach the owner of a specific model, I will try templates I have to see if they fit your vehicle. If not, it's time to look at other models. Please contact me with any additional questions, and I hope you enjoy my work, and what's to come. Mike T. MTen

Colorado Skins
So, I've made the decision to release some work I've done recently on LCPDFR, and it got me thinking I might as well do something everyone really wants to see before I release the stuff I still need to finish up. Since releasing a skin is a lot different from sharing it with friends, I'm going to perfect anything I put out. Public criticism is something I have never been open to, but today I looked around a bunch of half finished projects, and want others to get as excited about them as I did making them. So, any COLORADO department request will gladly be taken. I try to make realistic packs, so the entire fleet, to the best of my ability, is going to get completed. That being said, I can only use vehicles available to me. If you want you can post image links to a corresponding department, but I do picture research on every model for every fleet. So the works I'm going to finish up and release in order: Silverthorne PD (RELEASED) CUSTOM REQUEST (0%) CASTLE ROCK PD (50%) Cherry Hills PD (0%) Glendale PD (RELEASED) Want to see something not on the list? Please respond or PM me! The most wanted skin is going to get into the coveted 'custom request' spot, and I plan on starting all other requests after I release Glendale. Images always help, however I always go out to the department and take pictures of their fleet to help me skin. Thanks
