    hey guys,

I had the idea some days ago that it would be pretty cool if there would be like a really small detective mode in lcpdfr too.. for example if you choose the fbi ped at the station you will receive other callouts (murderd person or somethin' like this) so that you really have to investigate a crimescene.
what you're thinking about this? would it be realizable?

GTA's odd like that. My old GPU would struggle to hit 10 frames per second yet it'd say I had about 750 megs of onboard memory left.
If it starts bugging out, turn down your traffic density, texture quality, stuff like that.

I think what we have now just improved and better furthered with more functions/animations.

The ability to chose what you want to do each patrol such as be a normal patrol officer, SWAT team member, pilot, detective, federal agent with each choice affecting the calls you get and the assignments you receive throughout your day as a cop.

Assignments; receiving an assignment from dispatch to say lookout for a dangerous subject wanted for questioning, bring in a witness to the station, things that add realism to the game.

Seeing as there are better locations and more buildings that can be entered, more disturbance calls (like loud music, parties, protesting, etc) would be better as real life officers get these calls many times per day.

If at all possible an investigation side to the game would be wonderful, like where you play as a detective and have to go and hunt down certain criminals after having an investigation and talking to potential witnesses/suspects.

WARRANTS! All that needs to be said is how great would it be to kick some bad guy's door in and throw a warrant in his face before tearing his life upside down searching for guns, drugs, large sums of cash and other contraband.

This may be a bit of a stretch but maybe a call where you have to escort high value VIPs (such as prisoners for trials, witnesses, politicians, celebrities and so on) from the airport to a certain location and sometimes you may be ambushed and others you may get through fine that way you don't always know an ambush is coming and it changes things up a bit.

Maybe a part where you can be flying around in the LSPD Airship helping fellow officers chase suspects in pursuits, drop SWAT teams on the roof of a building so they can infiltrate it.

Be able to setup checkpoints and search peoples cars for things.

Have major incidents like bank robberies, shoot outs, home invasions, silent alarms and so on. Just not have them every single call out, maybe once or twice every 15 calls that get generated?

Congratulations!  Good luck with building the beast.  It's not that bad, PCs are easier to build these days compared to yester-year, you'll do great =)

if i may add to the xbox controller part you can go to gamestop and get this thing called a dongle  i dont know the exact price i dont have it i have the wired one which i got at walmart :) its a wireless gaming  adapter(or reciever what ever u want to call it) you plug the dongle into the pc and the xbox controller connects to the dongle but if you dont even have a controller i suggest you just buy a wired one from gamestop, best buy or walmart.

Here is the same build with a Z97 motherboard. There are some really helpful videos on Newegg's youtube channel that will teach you step by step how to build a pc, check them out for guidance.  http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hMQNxr

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Xqrnyc I was able to get the price even lower with better parts. You don't need a gold rated power supply, or a full tower case.

I opted for MSI later due to higher number of positive reviews, but Asus is one of the best companies out there. Both are great motherboards.

Yes, the "ASUS Radeon R9 290X 4GB DirectCU II" is the right card.

Check my post above, it costs $200 less!

With either of those builds, you will be able to run GTA IV with mods and almost every other game on the market on maximum settings without any performance issues (60 FPS rock solid)

One thing though - don't forget that GTA IV is a very bad port, and sometimes it will crash when overmodded. No hardware can remedy that issue.

By overmodding he means like 50 car models and 10 different scripts.

Yes, a GPU is a fancy word for a graphics card (Graphical Processing Unit).

Do you want to run GTA IV on highest settings? That won't be hard, seeing as it is a 5 year old game.

I would recommend getting a mouse anyway. A controller can't fully replace it.

Well, i tried to build a PC for you that would run every game on max settings and which you won't need to replace for I guess 6 years (it should run the games on medium then).

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4F42WZ - now it features the right card!

It costs about $1350, but it includes the OS, keyboard and mouse. Without them, it is about $1150.

    What you get:
A great CPU with a huge price/quality ratio, A great motherboard from a reliable company, 8 GBs of RAM, 1 TB HDD (that is a lot!), A KILLER card, one of the best on the market, Awesome case, Really good and reliable PSU, Nice & cheap optical drive
I could try to build one for $1000 or $800, however the OS, keyboard and mouse cost about $200, so if I were to build a $800 PC, then the actual parts would cost about $600.

Also, it looks like I dun goofed and got you a different GPU, the one I meant to give you costs $100 less. I have edited the post.

You can build a PC identical to mine for like $900, I can run most games on high with 40-60 FPS. Whatever you do don't buy a prebuilt, build your own. Computer companies often cut corners on key components like motherboards and powers supplies to save money, that is why I never recommend going with a prebuilt unless you are getting a laptop. Building your own PC is very easy, as I always say it is like building something with expensive legos. I built mine like 4 months ago and don't regret it one bit, it was first time building and I didn't mess up anything. I made a build list for you that is similar to my build with a few changes as my build is outdated, still the same price though. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/mrYqP6
