Yeah that's a good point. It takes roughly about 3.5 hours for me to re-install it.

Hmm I never thought to do it that way. Thanks for that info! This way seems a bit easier.

All I do is when I first install GTA4 I install LCPDFR then make a new folder. Simply highlight everything in your GTA4 folder, copy it, then paste it into your new folder. I usually name the second folder GTAIV Backup. Of course after you do that you can go ahead and add all of your mod's into your main GTA folder. That way if my game ever get's messed up to the point of no fixing it I can just refer to this "backup" folder as a fresh copy without the hassle of waiting hours to re-install it. I save all of my car mod files (wtd & wtf) as well. So when I use this backup folder all I have to do is change the directory in Open IV then just replace the files over again in Open. Also I save my Trainer, ELS, and all of my other script mod's to my computer so when I have to use my backup folder I can just copy and paste it where it needs to go without having to re-download these mods over again. It takes me about 5 minutes to back it up.

Also be sure to back up your game so that you don't have to re-install it so much. If I never backed up my files I proabably would have re-installed my game 10 times already. Let me know if you need help on that.

Heres some general questions I've got. (EDITED IN REPLIES THAT ARE HELPFUL.) 1) I don't really respond to many of the LCPDFR calls, I use Bravehearts policing when I'm looking for instant action... when I'm in a pursuit of a drunk driver, or something or that nature - I cannot use the call for backup features that LCPDFR has to offer... I understand why - but is there a way to edit the script limitations to pick up on Bravehearts? * I have noticed this also. I'm not 100% sure if there's a fix for it. I usually ignore the "Wanted Person" "Drunk Driver" calls. 2) Do I need to keep the Towing Services Scripts - since I have the helper? I'm not sure if the helper has this built into it, and I am able to use my phone that the helper supplies to tow? * I would keep the Tow Script. It's actually one script that rarely, if ever, crashed or causes any issues. 3) Will all of my current mods work correctly online - or will I need to disable/remove some when I'm ready to check out some clans? * If you play online you will probably have to rid the "Traffic" mod. I play in a group online and it just causes too many issues/crashes. I don't know many groups that will want to play with you if you have it installed. 4) When I'm typing the name of the person I've initated a stop on... my lights, horns, and so forth will go crazy... is there a way to disable this? * Unfourtnately there isn't. The ELS Mod conflicts with this and there isn't a way to fix it. You'll notice everyone's does that if you watch any LCPDFR video's on YouTube so I wouldn't worry about it! 5) I've noticed several people using "trainers" to disable certain keys - which is kind of a related question to #4 - anyone have additional information about this? * Yes we use Simple Trainer, most of us, to disable certain keys. I also use simple trainer to set weather, time, car options, car spawning, teleporting, anything and everything you can do with LCPDFR. I would highly suggest downloading it. 6) Do you guys recommend a backup copy seperate for multiplayer use as compared to some more unstable scripts that you would use in multiplayer? * Yes. I always back everything up. If you end up playing online I would certainly back up files you want to keep when you play Single Player. 7) Is there a way, without using a control to make my throttle a bit more controlled... and not always wide open, or nothing? * Some guys use Xbox controllers and it helps with that but I feel like it's a bit of a hassle to set up. I was terrible at driving when I first started and I have gotten a whole lot better. If you stick with the Keyboard/Mouse you will get better with time. I set my controls a certain way that made it easier for me to learn. I have my vehicle accelerate set as my left mouse click and my brake set as my right mouse click. You can use the mouse to control the camera as well and this was just simpler for me. Also - I was wondering if there are any additional mods that add onto this that I've over looked for that you guys would recommend? Such as weapon replacements, uniform replacements, or first person views * There is plenty of mods you can add. That's what makes this game fun after playing it many many times. http://www.gta4-mods.com/weapons is a good site for weapons. http://gtapolicemods.com/ and of course www.lcpdfr.com are good sites for vehicle models and textures. www.lcpdfr.com is the best, I feel, for uniforms. Of course if you join an online clan they will send you their own uniforms/vehicles.

Hey guys. I'm just looking for a group to play online with every now and then. I've played LCPDFR for a couple of months now. I tend to try to play realisticly (stupid AI though) but not looking for anything hardcore..just wanting to get online and play a little with people. I can usually play during the day on weekdays or late at night. I am on EST. I do have ELS modded vehicles and I am willing to use specific modded vehicles if needed. My game use to crash all the time. I started playing it under Multiplayer>LAN>Quick Match>Free Mode and it hasn't crashed since...give it a try!

I'm pretty new to this so I can give you basic help lol. When you get behind a car you want to pull over hit the SHIFT key and they pull over..or run lol. It will then tell you to go to the drivers side door and the rest is self explanitory. If you want to add mods,vehicles,etc you have to get either Spark IV or Open IV. I personally use Open IV but you cant install sounds with Open so you may want Spark IV. You can find YouTube videos on how to install certain mods and such. I learned everything from Youtube lol

The Geoforce GTX 650 2GB card is also good for the price. It's about $120 but honestly that's pretty cheap for a card as good as it is.

GeForce GT 240 512MB GDDR5 PCI Express Graphics Card. It wasnt the one I went out looking for but a store employee recommended it so I took a chance and it worked out fine. My RAM and Processor support it well though so I lucked out.

Hello, I am wanting to upgrade my Graphics Card for my computer to run GTA 4. I am not tech savvy at all so a basic response would be best. Here are my system spec's HP Pavillion p6000 Series AMD PhentomII 840T Quad Core processor 6GB in RAM My video card however is only a ATI Radeon HD 4200. Power Supply is 250 Watts as well. GTA runs very poorly on this card and I need to know what would be a good option at upgrading.

Awesome! Hopefully a game developer somewhere realizes this is a hit and make a full blown game out of it instead of having it modded into GTA. Don't get me wrong though this is pretty awesome as is!

Awesome thank you for that. GTA 4 is only about $20 so eh why not try it out I guess.
