Whats your favorite state patrol vehicle?
In the conversation of Michigan State Police....I'm sorry, but 'tradition'? Thats the best excuse they can come up with for using the most HIDEOUS scheme in the USA? A large unattactive bubble on top with a useless hood ornament that can only be read from 1 side....come on. Personally, Texas is pretty badass. I really like Marylands too

Starting the Police Academy
HOLY Crap Nutt, that's insane! I don't even think my schedule would permit me to work out 2hrs in the morning and 2hrs in the evening. I absolutely abhor running, but I've always done whatever needs to be done to get what I want, so I've been running like crazy as much as I hate it. Mind over body (if I dont drive myself insane first LOL). The last few weeks I've been doing simple workouts to get prepared, stuff like pushups, pullups, situps, suicide sprints and running laps around my neighborhood, but nothing serious enough to warrant all those protein shakes LOL I'm poor enough as is, and that stuff ain't cheap!

Starting the Police Academy
Well the one good thing that I keep hearing is that the PT will be slightly less strenuous starting with this class. Apparently our County had such a huge dropout rate compared to surrounding jurisdictions and we just recently got a new Chief because the old one resigned (some bad stuff with the County Executive and criminal charges, don't ask)....anyways, apparently the new Chief wants the Academy to be more collegiate like and focus on academics rather than having a DI in your face 5 days a week making you do pushups for having a dog hair on your uniform. I mean, the DI's will still be there a few days a week, but nothing like before apparently. SO, it'll be interesting to see how it will all play out, the anticipation is killing me.

Starting the Police Academy
Guys, my lifelong dream has finally come true. Eight years ago, I started working for County Corrections thinking it would be a great experience and maybe a foot in the door to the police. My first two attempts into the police were in 2007 and 2010. Both ended in disappointment. I sure as hell didn't let that stop me though. I started my third attempt LAST August, and just received my final offer of employment three days ago. I start on February 28th and I can already feel that this is going to be the longest two weeks EVER waiting for it. The best thing is, I got in with the same County that I already work for, so my 8 years transfers from my pension plan, and all my annual and sick leave transfer over too, the only thing that doesn't come with me is seniority (they used to do it based off how long you've been with the County, but not anymore). So anyways, I'll try to stop by and check in with you guys periodically. Until then, carry on!

What Graphics mod can I run?
Don't worry OP, I'm in the same boat. Apparently its good enough to run BF3 on high settings but God forbid I try an older game like GTA4 on high and everything comes to a screeching halt. Q6600 cpu 2.4ghz quad core Radeon HD5750 4GB Ripjaw DDR3 and GTA isn't playable on anything above medium settings. And on top of that, it STILL looks like crap because I can't figure out the damn anti-aliasing settings in game, no matter what I select its jagged edges everywhere.

Avg. Time Playing LCPDFR Before Crash
My average playing times vary also. Running LCPD:FR RC2, ELS V5, Policehelper, Bravehearts Policing Script, TowService, DashCam, Breathalizer script, and 1 car pack. I really don't even care about the crashes, but it takes SO long to reload the game and get back into it.

Remapping to mouse buttons?
Got it. Oh and also, is there any way to get rid of the stupid roleplaying keymaps? Specifically the Radio and Coffee ones, they interfere with my ELS Menu 'auto' mode everytime I push Alt+O. I've tried remapping the 'auto' mode from the ELS.ini file to something that makes more sense like Alt+A but it doesn't seem to work and I don't see any option to change the roleplaying keymaps in the policing or lcpd script.

Remapping to mouse buttons?
Very simple question here, just need to know 1. if its possible and 2. what text do I type? Using 'G' to turn on the siren and holding it down while driving for alternate modes is quite annoying while trying to use A and D to steer, is there a way to remap the siren on/off to one of my mouse buttons? I would be using Mouse Button 4, so do I just type that out in the .ini file or is it something abbreviated like msbttn4 or something weird like that?

Sparks IV previously working, then stopped with errors.
again, clicking 'continue' does not do anything.

Sparks IV previously working, then stopped with errors.
Yeah the download from Steam comes as 1.07 automatically. This is completely retarded and makes me want to hurl my computer out the window. It LITERALLY just stopped working out of the blue. Does anyone have a copy of Open IV? I'll just try to use that, because I just did yet another fresh install of GTAIV and fresh download of Spark IV 7.0beta and still getting the same error. The only Open IV files I can find online are some Russian website and Norton won't let me download it.

I click continue and it doesn't do anything. Everytime I click on the GTAIV icon to browse for the files I get that error now. I don't understand why it started happening after I verified game cache integrity on Steam

Try reinstalling which patch? GTA 1.07? or LCPD:FR?

Sparks IV previously working, then stopped with errors.
I think you missed the part where I said I redownloaded sparks. I've tried version 7.0 and 6.9 and both give the same errors, regardless of if the folder is on my desktop or in a sub directory in my GTA4 roots folder.

because I just copied and pasted from gtapolicemods forum. I'm really stumped here, and I consider myself to be a pretty competent modder.

So the last few days have been filled with frustration for me. I bought GTA4 when I discovered the LCPD:FR mod, I spent the first day picking out cars I liked and reading up on the mod and tools I needed. I downloaded everything and started installing stuff. The LCPD mod was working and I successfully installed a few new car models, but apparently somewhere along the line one of the car files I installed kept crashing the game while I was cycling through the cars after I selected my Officer. Now here's where it gets weird. The whole time I was using Spark IV in a folder I created on my desktop. I decided to start over and delete everything, then go on Steam and verify integrity of game cache, it didn't find 8 files so it re-downloaded them, then I went to Spark IV and it kept giving me an "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application...blah blah...Object reference not set to an instance of an object". In a last ditch effort, I totally erased GTA4 from Steam and re-downloaded the whole game last night to TOTALLY start from scratch. I got home today and started to reinstall things, and Spark IV is still giving me the same error. As of right now, I do have LCPD:FR .95 RC2 working successfully but without Sparks IV working, I can't install new car models/skins. Here are the details. See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at RageLib.Common.KeyUtilGTAIV.FindGTADirectory() at SparkIV.MainForm.toolStripGTAIV_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.RaiseEvent(Obje ct key, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripButton.onclick(Event Args e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.HandleClick(Eve ntArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.HandleMouseUp(M ouseEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.FireEventIntera ctive(EventArgs e, ToolStripItemEventType met) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.FireEvent(Event Args e, ToolStripItemEventType met) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStrip.onmouseup(MouseEven tArgs mea) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ScrollableControl.WndProc(Mes sage& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStrip.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativewindow.O nMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativewindow.W ndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Nativewindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) ************** Loaded Assemblies ************** mscorlib Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5456 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v2.0.50727/mscorlib.dll ---------------------------------------- SparkIV Assembly Version: 0.6.9.0 Win32 Version: 0.6.9.0 CodeBase: file:///D:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/steamapps/common/Grand%20Theft%20Auto%20IV/GTAIV/Spark%20IV/SparkIV.exe ---------------------------------------- System.Windows.Forms Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5460 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Windows.Forms/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Windows.Forms.dll ---------------------------------------- System Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5456 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Drawing Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5462 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Drawing/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Drawing.dll ---------------------------------------- RageLib.FileSystem Assembly Version: 0.6.2.0 Win32 Version: 0.6.2.0 CodeBase: file:///D:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/steamapps/common/Grand%20Theft%20Auto%20IV/GTAIV/Spark%20IV/RageLib.FileSystem.DLL ---------------------------------------- RageLib.Common Assembly Version: 0.6.2.0 Win32 Version: 0.6.2.0 CodeBase: file:///D:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/steamapps/common/Grand%20Theft%20Auto%20IV/GTAIV/Spark%20IV/RageLib.Common.DLL ---------------------------------------- ************** JIT Debugging ************** To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this application or computer (machine.config) must have the jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
