Wow looks really good. It says though to add 32k handling file to common/data..but there are like 4 files in that range.

What mod is there out there to make driving more realistic?

oh ok, thanks. i will try that. but should it work if im having issues with making the files not read only? and also, ive updated to 1.0.7 but after updating i would get an error when i start using gtaiv to run it, it would tell me to use launchgtaiv instead? is that proper? (because launchgtaiv still says 1.0.0)

Hi Tom, I did everything you dud there in terms of checking off from read..but when i go back I see the "read" ticked again. How do you solve that? When I go into the game, I hit Alt-P, go to the police station, but my mission doesn't actually start..just says someone died and my game starts from the beginning. From the cheklist, the only thing I haven't been able to do is this. Then my last restort seems to be replacing the dsound.dll file.

I think I might have done it. I might be confusing the "read" being ticked on the folder as opposed to making sure its not ticked on the applications? When I actually click on the folder and find properties, it always goes back to being checked. but if i do what you said, and simply right click the applications, its not read only.

not working for me. is there any other way to do this? im updated to 1.0.7

not sure what you mean, that is where the game is installed (drive d, not drive c) i did the gtaiv folder, then specifically the data folder. but it just keeps going back despite applying changes.

hey thanks, the read only wont go off for me..i can only change the security..why is this? everytime i go back, its still on read. ok the issue is that i have two folders where it says my username/users. one of the (YOURNAME\Users), says *not inherited", and i have another (YOURNAME\Users) and that is under drive D: where I have the game. That one won't go to full authority. (just execute and read)

when i try to apply the patch, 1.0.7 it is searching for a really long time. can't seem to find the files needed to start install. why is this? i have a legit copy from gamersgate (digital download)

So I haven't played before but heard that something has to be installed to actually make the game moddable?or do you just apply the lcpdfr ?
