  1. And how do you know this for sure? You could say that if it was a black family they would have all been shot. Boom, race is a factor. This may or may not be true, but that's beside the point. Race is indeed, always a factor.
  2. I'm running the same GPU, and it's a beauty. I've yet to encounter any issues with it in terms of gameplay, or heat. However, as others have said, ensure that you have adequate airflow through the case to make sure that hot air isnt building up inside.
  3. The 970 is a beast of a card, and you'll have no trouble running anything with it obviously. If you're looking to save some money, I'd go with the AMD 290x as you can find some pretty nice deals on it.
  4. Yeah you'll be running games at ultra settings for a while. Honestly, if you're looking to only run things at "decent" settings you could end up spending like $800. Also, get a cheaper motherboard. Honestly, you should be spending max $150.
  5. "I know you've been complaining, but you weren't ready yet". I find it kinda funny that Rockstar put that line in there, I'd assume referencing people who were complaining about the huge delay in releasing heists.
  6. I have no idea why anybody disliks Win8.1... Boot into desktop, install classic shell and you'll never have to see the metro UI. Also gotta love Win+X key combo for nice super-user features. That said, I love me some Ubuntu or Debian virtual machines. Those that have the space should make themselves a Windows 10 virtual machine. It is probably going to be my favorite OS when it releases.
  7. Honestly, if you can play GTA IV *moderately* you'll probably be able to GTA V. GTA IV is probably one of the worst PC ports in a very long time so it runs shit on ANY computer. GTA V for PC will probably be less of a port and more of a revamp. I feel like they'll be paying a lot of attention to the game, and definitely optimizing it.
  8. Dat cobra maneuver though...
  9. Its interesting to see many of the other big cities throughout Canada are beefing up security presence. Here in Toronto, I saw a few armed police officers walking up and down my subway train. This was in addition to police officers on every subway stop in the downtown core.
  10. The person below you did, that's who it was directed to.
  11. There are police officers throughout the buildings, as well as metal detectors in certain areas. You need to remember that in Canada, having a gun is pretty rare. Its assumed that most people don't have a gun, not that most people do. As a result, security isn't as high as it is at the White House or other high security areas. And why would you think that the government cannot pay for a security checkpoint? That doesn't make any sense... And the soldier that was shot was not an armed soldier, but rather just equipped with a ceremonial rifle. Live Radio Scanner; http://tunein.com/radio/Ottawa-area-Police-Fire-and-MTO-417-s146076/
  12. Those firefighters must be soaking wet! The driver has to open his door at the end to empty the cabin. That must suck.
  13. Great idea, kill 45 million people just to get rid of ~30 000 soldiers. Definitely the best solution so far. It honestly hurts my head how somebody could even propose such an imbecilic idea, let alone how anybody could take it seriously.
  14. Ride operator at a near by theme park. No pictures of me actually working since we can't have our phones on us.
  15. I still don't understand why the US insists on using imperial. It has absolutely no sense in it...
  16. For 1080p gaming on a single monitor, you've spent too much money. I mean, two 780s? That is so unnecessary...
  17. I built a very similar rig to this a few days ago and it's a beauty. The only thing I really recommend changing is the PSU. Corsair CX series have a bed rep. Their other lines are much higher quality, and there are negative CX reviews all over the internet. Go with something like Seasonic for your PSU since if that screws up you risk damaging your entire system. One thing you should never cheap out on is the PSU. Also OP: Since I see you live in Toronto as well, I suggest getting all your parts from NCIX Canada. They price match all parts and all online order with in store pickup. This will save you money and time and lowers the risk of damaging your parts. They can also put the thing together for an additional fee (I think its like $50?).
  18. Eh, I still think this rig is a waste of money. You could throw together something for $1200 that will run all the games you want at ultra settings while getting great frames.
  19. If you were going to go for that AMD processor, you would need to get liquid cooling. A CPU fan wouldn't cool it enough, since that thing will run really hot.
  20. Honestly, that's a waste of money. You don't need a $900 graphics card... Go for something like a R9 280x or R9 290 instead and save a few hundred bucks. A 280x is nearly $600 cheaper and will get you around 80FPS on Battlefield 3 at ultra settings at 1080p and ArmA III at 60FPS on the highest settings as well. Kill Skyrim with like 100+ FPS at Ultra. There is no reason to get a $900 GPU to game on... Especially when you are considering reusing RAM to save money. Also, keep in mind you'll need to get liquid cooling for your CPU, so factor in the cost of that as well. Again, I'd go with something a little less expensive of that CPU, but whatever floats your boat.
  21. 100% guarantee this would never make it into a court room.
  22. The Canadian national anthem also has phrases talking about God, but I being somebody who isn't religious don't really mind all too much. Although I believe church and state should be separate, I don't mind that these two things are together in a national anthem.
  23. That means that you aren't connecting to your database properly. Make sure you have a MySQL user named sdsoclan_admin and that you have a database named sdsoclan_cad and your password is correct. As well, make sure that your user is linked to the database and has all the privileges. In case you aren't too familiar with PHP, here's a link to a simple explanation of connecting to MySQL via PHP: http://www.w3schools.com/php/php_mysql_connect.asp If you need more help with MySQL, here's a link to that: http://docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/CpanelDocs/MySQLDatabases
  24. I think Chicago in the 30s would be an awesome storyline. Mobs, prohibition, dirty cops, the depression, tommy guns. It just sounds interesting and provides a new spin to the GTA series.
