Sigh where do I start. It matters not how many cores unless the software can make use of it. Even today, SLI is all but dead..... You remember what that was right? Again, 2 cores at 1gz each or 1 core at 3ghz given the same architectural base.. choice is easy. The only reason a core 7 is say better than an older processor is because each logical cpu alone can process more than the older one, so your gains are again, down to the single logical processor, not an effect of multiple cores working together to load split. There is no consumer software that is actually designed for SLI or multiple cores. Some have claimed SLI compatability, but the gains have been marginal at best over a single card (like 10%), which is really emulation and nothing more. Once you get into industrial applications will you actually take advantage of multiple logical cpus, along with high end servers (which is where the whole multiple core thing started, remember the xeon boards?) as for crunching numbers.. yes and no. bitcoins are a good case study.

that's because that's how it's supposed to work. if an application isn't coded to use multicores, it will not. that's why speed > number of cores always.

nothing. laptops are terrible for games unless you drop 2k on a specialized one (origin, alien), and even then, it will be obsolete soon and you are stuck with it. and you still will have heat issues and what not..

actually braveheart did it, but you have to be outside the car.... abraxas did it by spawning cones and road barriers not sure if the game allows for such controls when inside a vehicle and if that could be worked around. but yes it would be so nice. we all have been run over by cars, even with the no overtake mod (which is marginal at best as it lasts a few seconds and then its free for all again)

went to an acer 27" after my hannsg 27 kept burning out. have another on rma as i type this. what a piece of.......... 46" at that resolution is terrible. you need to be in the 3000x to have a decent picture (which is why tvs are not monitors) i think my next one will be a 32" but with those resolutions, it really tends to push games and your hardware. so i'll stick with 1920x for a while longer

That might be so but think about it this way. I know of few people who bought gta4 so they can play virtual cops since we all got bored with stock gta years ago. So essentially, mods are still indirectly generating profit for rock Not to the degree the sims games and flight/train sim series which are full blown aftermarket conversions that this point, but sufficient to sustain game sales well into the years the game is obsolete. Yes at launch console sales always make the boom, but years down the road, pc sales always trickle in. Which might also explain why they never rush pc ports anyway. ps. i cant type. on this tablet thing. so annoying

this site wouldnt be here if 1. people didnt pirate it 2. game was only for console so when you talk about pc vs consoles in terms of numbers, you have to look at the big picture. there is a whole industry revolving around GTA series for the pc. for the consoles.. meh nope. just another game you throw in the bin in a few weeks/days/whatever
