Jeepserver got a reaction from sek510i in OpenIV discontinued | Take Two claims game modding "illegal"I also want to make it incredibly clear that a company cannot "declare" something as illegal. In order for an action to be illegal, it must be against a written and signed in law - be it local, state. or federal -- not corporate. When you purchased GTA V, you didn't actually purchase the game. You purchased the license to use a game under their user agreement. Theoretically, R* would have to take all of its users to a civil court for violating terms of service.
Products like OpenIV, which are not bound to the GTA V "law" -- or user license agreement -- do not have to follow its agreement. It makes no legal difference that this tool can be used to modify game files. In theory, so can built in Windows Explorer. Where was Microsoft's C&D? The risk is entirely that of its users.
I want to refer to case law, where we can look at products like Limewire (rip). Limewire itself was not illegal. The product could be used to download pirated music - which would be illegal, and not against a user license agreement of any kind. That was the doing of the user still, not the product. Limewire got itself into trouble by knowingly hosting pirated music.
I'm a bit baffled with how this C&D was even taken seriously to begin with. It's unfounded, based on no laws, and is ONLY referring to GTA V's user license agreement.

Jeepserver got a reaction from carlos santana in So, let's say Script Hook V is dead.I'm not implying that it is, nor am I trying to be an alarmist. Hypothetically, let's say that Alex is done updating Script Hook V after the recent fallout - which wouldn't be unheard of. What is the future of LSPD:FR for those who cannot revert their game back?
Has anyone been able to contact Alex or heard from him? I do find it unlikely that he would abandon such a project without telling anyone.

Jeepserver got a reaction from officerAMR in [DEV] Los Santos Medic Rescue - Supervisor VehicleLos Santos Medic Rescue - Development
This topic is dedicated to the development of the Los Santos Medic Rescue (LSMR) development for GTA V. LSMR is designed to be a realistic over-haul of the EMS service in the game. This will include many vehicles modified for the purpose of EMS, designed by a real Emergency Medical Technician. Many tools and add-ons will be released over the course of this project to create a suitable EMS environment in Los Santos.
Supervisor Vehicle (DEV)
2015 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor Sprint Medic Unit Modified Federal Signal Valor Light Bar LED Spotlight Safety Chevron Striping (rear only)
As for right now, the Supervisor Vehicle (610-3) is the only in-development project. 610-3 consists of a modified Valor Light Bar, a modified LED spotlight, chevron safety striping, and comes with the Police Interceptor Package (Setina Push Bumper, Steel Wheels, Black Grille, Modified Suspension / Handling) 610-3 comes standard with the same decal package as the Type II Ambulance in the fleet.
Type II Ambulance (DONE)
2014 Mercedes Sprinter Dual Modified Vanilla Light Bars (LED) Cornering Lamps American Heart Association Certification Privacy Rear-Windows Custom Chevron Striping (rear, side)
The Type II Medic Unit (Medic 616) is a state of the art, high profile, American ambulance. Featuring a high quality decal package that is first in its class, realistic effects, reflective decals all around, a high profile dual light bar, cornering lamps, privacy tint for patients, and meeting AHA standards. Medic 616 is a 2014 Mercedes Sprinter Advanced Life Support equipped rig, capable of responding to any emergencies where a BLS unit is not indicated.

Jeepserver reacted to rushlink in Speed RadarI tried attaching the file to the post, but i guess i cant do that or something, because it didnt show up.
Here's a download link.
http://www.2shared.c...f/Radarnet.html
(i always hate these download places, cuz they trick u into downloading stuff... but just click the blue download button about 2/3 way down the page)
FYI... For soeme reason i cant re-edit my first post. So could a MOD or someone who can, please delete this post, and put the download link into the first one? Oh, and delete the first line where it says it doesnt work, because it does now :)

Jeepserver reacted to rushlink in Speed RadarGive me 10 mins, for some reason its not working right now... I thought i uploaded a version that worked. Hmm.
Ok. So this is my first script for any GTA series.
What this script does:
Return the speed of two vehicles, and allow you to lock that speed for reference.
It will essentially draw a line directly (in-front & behind) you for 100 yards (ish).
It will return the speed of the closest vehicle to you, along that line (will catch two lanes either side of you, most of the time).
At any time you can lock the speed that is displayed. The lock will be displayed to the right of the read-out, with the front reading first.
Keys:
I - start radar
U - Lock Speed
Im not really going to offer any support for this, but if you are having problems let me know - I've only tested on one system, mine.
It seems to work just fine on my system, I really made it for myself, but I thought I should probably share it, as others might want to use it.
Also, if you want to use the source to incorporate it into your own mods, let me know!
Btw. This will output to the top of the screen, other scripts might output here too. Right now i have fairly limited knowledge of 1. the language, and 2. modding for gta 4. Maybe in a future version I'll have it output legitimately to the screen :)
Installation:
Drop into your GTAIV Scripts folder
Requirements:
Scripthook.net (Works fine withe the scripthook that LCPDFR 0.95 has - thast what im running, im sure it works fine with the one 0.91 has too (untested though)) http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=392325
.net framework (You should already have this with LCPDFR)
