Adding the GTA 5 folder to my exceptions in Avast fixed my issue. Thank you HEIMINFLUGER! -

Bumping because I am having the exact same issue. I installed via the guide provided, ran RPH and my game is crashing almost immediately giving me the "GTA has exited unexpectedly" with the Retry and Safe Mode options.
