MattDH got a reaction from r6ix31 in Attempted to read or write protected memoryMine is already maxed out haha, so no that’s not it sadly. Everything was smoothe until I updated lspdfr. Everything else works, eup, all my cars, the police tape mod. Only thing not working is LSPDFR, and it crashes as soon as it loads.
Edit: just to clarify this is after I updated my game to the newest patch, updated Rage, Scripthook, all that fun stuff.

MattDH got a reaction from NWPD118 in LSPDFR Crashes to desktopUPDATE:
I figured out why, Ultimate Backup and Stop the Ped has an update which adds a brand new flashlight functionality native to STP. That’s what was throwing the switch for PWF. Even though I haven’t updated those two yet, somehow it was causing it to crash. I updated UB and STP and I have all the functionality of PWF plus some, and no crashes.

MattDH got a reaction from Sharingan in LSPDFR Crashes to desktopThank you, but that's not needed. I found the problem.
FOR ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM MAYBE THIS WILL WORK FOR YOU
Persistent Weapon Flashlight caused the crash. I have no idea why, there were no clues in my log, but I took it out and the game works perfectly.

MattDH reacted to A Stranger in Mods folder not being readI told you earlier to remove AsiSupport. Which is what that is.
Remove all of AsiSupport and then reinstall your Asiloader.

MattDH reacted to Jetty Bot in Mods folder not being readThis may not apply to you and if it doesn't then ignore this.
But make sure your mods folder is named "mods" and not "_mods". When it has a underscore before it, it disables the folder. This is usually used as a way to see if something in the mods folder is causing the game to crash.

MattDH got a reaction from Ahmed4696 in Attempted to read or write protected memoryAlrighty folks I found a fix but sadly I have a bit of bad news. Some people I’ve talked to, like the very helpful and amazing YouTuber Mr. @OfficerBenzo, deleting your mods folder and creating a new one worked, but sadly for some reason this did not work for me. So if you’ve tried this and are still having this issue I’ll tell you what I did.
I moved my mods folder to my desktop, along with els, plugins, and all the other stuff of LSPDFR relation, redownloaded GTA, and then did a fresh MANUEL install of LSPDFR. The automatic installer refused to work for me for some reason.
After getting it to work, I added my plugins folder and was able to run the game, though had to update a few of the plugins. I managed to be able to salvage a lot of my cars from my old mods folder, making a fresh clean one in my new game, and after adding one thing by one thing, I think I found our problem.
I was able to overwrite my new PatchDay20 with the ones from my old mods folder, getting back all my cars in there. However when I went to install mods such as “updated lspd cop” or “improved SAHP ped”, I got the protected memory error. I have yet to try and put my addon vehicles back in, but the problem seems to be with replacing police peds, for some odd reason.
EDIT: Also causing it when adding addons. But everything else works fine.
EDIT 2: was able to readd peds, and 2 addons, but when I try and install the third my game crashes. But as far as the peds you can still have them, just remove and reinstall.
If anyone finds a way around this or can improve upon my discovery, let me know. I hope this helped at least someone.

MattDH reacted to Ahmed4696 in Attempted to read or write protected memoryDid you guys "update" through OPEN IV? If you open OPEN IV, it should tell you to update on top. Don't remember exactly what is said but something along the lines.

MattDH reacted to Shoomfie in Attempted to read or write protected memoryHi good people. I can't get LSPDFR to load. in fact: it crashes my game and locks it onto my screen (can't C+A+D) and have to reset my machine.
I thought that maybe that my windows defender was throwing a fit. I can get Ragehook to load but as soon as I reload all plugins (which right now is only LSPDFR), it just dies. Any thoughts? I know this is a common problem, but I can't find a straight forward answer.

MattDH got a reaction from eyelessjack35 in Lspdfr not loadingFound out my fix for me, I had a corrupted file somewhere, must have accidentally dropped a mod in the core game somewhere. Just verify your game data and that should do it.

MattDH got a reaction from Tzscherper in Random Crash Can someone help me outHey I’m having this same problem but it only started recently. It’s with my police3 slot and I haven’t touched anything on it before or since this started happening. Anyone have any idea what it could be?
