I'm not sure what SMGs our agency's use. But patrol officers at my agency don't use SMGs only the specialized units and the airport.

Speaking on my agency they use SMGs at the airport and some specialized units. But patrol officers carry the shotguns and the AR-15s.

Or I got one better in my city. A man murdered a guy the judge let's him out on bond then he goes and murders his cousin.
