1997 Ford Crown Victoria P71- NYPD
That model. As I understand it, Crown Vics were purchased around '93-ish for highway, but they were blue and white. There were also some repaints from the Transit/Housing merge in '95. The later purchase of the Crown Vics was in '97 due to the Caprice's discontinuation in '96, and they were the new white and blue color scheme.

"I want all north end units to roll, south end units stay in their location. Damn!" Beautiful, as usual.

Explain this to me! CHP pulls car over NY/PA Border
Possibly a local agency with a similar color scheme to the CHP. Also potentially a prop car from a movie company being either transported to the place where it would be stored/filmed, or used in a scene. Alternatively, some idiot with a black and white, playing copper.

Can Someone ID This 80s Tech and Uniform?
You can definitely make out a Motorola logo on that speaker mic - good venture.

Holy hell, this is gorgeous. Having been lucky enough to see one of these in person, this model stands up to that recollection quite well!

The Embarrassment Wagon
Fleet Services (FSD) was known as Motor Transport (either MT or MTD - one is the abbreviation for the Mounted unit, but I can't remember which) up until the late 1990s if I recall correctly. A fun photo nonetheless. :)

What police/crime shows do you watch?
Third Watch (1999-2005) is still probably my favorite police procedural show. Blue Bloods is literally unwatchable if you even have a vague understanding of how things actually work, not to mention that the writing is generally poor.

Can someone ID these interior lights? Calling for older car people.
Identifying the exact make/model of the light will probably be difficult, but Riley is correct when he stated that these sorts of lights are referred to as can lights, due to their can-like shape. Try elightbars.org - if they can't identify it over there, nobody can.
-
Does this light bar even exist?!
The NYPD Visions had all rotating pods in them. The Vision SL models that came out later had stationary flashing LED pods, coupled with two clear rotating pods to the left and right of the frontmost pod. The Vision SLR has rotating LED pods. The NYPD SLR does have modes where only a two or so pods flash in a stationary position without rotating, however. Maybe that's what you saw?

[REL] Realism Dispatch Enhanced 3.1.1
Definitely looking forward to the retro/90s variant and the LCPD version! Great work.

2016 Charger with Halogen rotators!
I'm always a proponent of older styled lighting, and I do like these. I'd imagine they're quite effective by themselves, but for the naysayers I'm positive the headlight/taillight flashers, decklights, etc can pick up any alleged slack. The thing the stationary LEDs miss out on is that they don't seem to have the bright pop that the older halogen rotators do though. I'm surprised their older lights weren't a sealed-beam setup, which would be more effective than the reflector rotating around a halogen bulb style IMO. Here's Michigan State Police's LED beacon with a rotating pattern on a Charger as compared to their older Unity RV-46 on a Crown Vic. Both are quite good, especially as compared to that Christmas-tree Tahoe.

Can anyone ID what siren this is?
I believe they used a regular, off-the-shelf version. I'll have to ask around at a few enthusiast sites to confirm that though. That silver faceplated model is one of the oldest PA300s to my knowledge - it has a much longer wail than its newer counterparts and much lower tones. It's one of my favorites. I believe the PA300 I'm looking for was the model following that one. Maybe I was mistaken about the age of the siren in question; one of the newer PA300 variants sounds similar to it.

ID this old cop car? (Unlikely)
The Volare/Aspen and the Gran Fury/Diplomat share their general looks in common, but the photo in the original post is definitely of a Volare/Aspen. Check out the front corner reflector - the Gran Fury/Diplomat doesn't have a vertical one that runs the length of the headlight.

ID this old cop car? (Unlikely)
My first guess is a 1980 Plymouth Volare/Dodge Aspen. It looks like it has Mopar police wheels, and the last model year of the Volare/Aspen had square headlights with a visible side marker light from the side and a front bumper that juts out a bit. EDIT: Ninja'd by Lundy. Great work.

Can anyone ID what siren this is?
Sounds like an older Federal Signal PA300 siren to me. The older models were a little lower in pitch than the newer ones, and the NYPD did use them at one time if that file title is correct.

Hybrid Ford Fusion Police Interceptor Announced
The Fusion itself is pretty cramped on the inside, and I imagine that is only compounded by having equipment mounted and a vest + belt on. I don't like that the gear selector is that rotary knob - it may be blocked by mounted equipment and you can't really use it without staring directly at it as far as I know. I'd much rather it have a gear selector on the column. Reliability remains a concern as well in terms of how well the hybrid drivetrain will stand up to urban policing. Though saving gas when extensively idling is always a nice proposition.

Anyone plan to play or already playing beat cop?
I purchased it on Steam yesterday, but haven't had the chance to play it yet.

Favorite "Celebrity" LE Car
I really wish that episodes of Third Watch after the first two seasons were easier to find. I've been trying to watch the series in its entirety, but it is quite difficult being that only the first two seasons made it to DVD. ---- You can't go wrong with Zebra-3. Not to mention the bevy of unmarked and marked cars in The French Connection.

Rumbler Siren Is Usless Compared To This
The rumbler siren doesn't hold a candle to the mechanical sirens of old IMO.
