rockstar is anti-modding
They DO support mods, they enjoy seeing the new creative ideas the community comes up with, not to mention - they still get money at the end of the day, People are still buying GTA: San Andreas & GTA IV to this day because of mods. SA-MP being the main contender for SA and numerous and quite simply, fantastic mods for IV. Directly from their newswire; proof: http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/18541/zombie-invasion-mod-for-gtaiv-pc.html proof: http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/52443/rockstar-editor-fan-vids-red-dead-tribute-the-hit-and-next Truth is, they support modding on a third party level - There are SO many mods out there that all inject into the game in different ways, Rockstar could not possibly be in direct contact with every single creator out there so they could create each update without breaking a mod or two. If they were so against modding, they certainly wouldn't feature them on their own newswire so frequently. Expecting a company to prevent updates to their own game breaking third party modifications is a ridiculous assumption. Its the same with other games, the guys behind cities skylines and the guys behind American Truck Sim do support mods, but warn that every update they do to their games will probably break mods

You'll have to forgive me, I've only just rejoined the team. This is a revamped version, focusing on the talent behind the modifications that we all use on a daily basis, this version goes more in-depth into the person behind the screen and helps us gain a better understanding of who they are. Looking Back: Fort Carson RP
Looking back on a defining moment in the multiplayer community of GTA games Enough time has passed that most of you here will probably have no idea what Fort Carson Roleplay was and to be honest, probably don't care - however, for those that remain and for those that are interested this post will take a look back at the server and showcase some of the most popular events that I can recall from memory. What was FC:RP? Fort Carson RP was a server hosted and run by G17 Media, the guys behind LCPDFR and now LSPDFR and was set in the town of Fort Carson and the surrounding Bone County area running off the then latest SA:MP client. The main server team consisted of the old staff team over on lcpdfr.com and a few slim pickings from players on the server, overseen by @Sam and Cyan. The server opened in late 2011 (i think?) and started off small, it'd hit a max of about 20 players a day and the script was very bare, It was an edit of Sam's old modified version of the godfather script(?) that was used when he first launched the server way back in the GPM days. Within a few months and some incredible script updates, the server exploded in popularity. At some points we had close to 70 players online consistently which led to some fantastic situations - some of which I'll detail in this post. There were the standard factions that were scripted into the server, the sheriff's department headed by James Anderson, the FD/EMS faction which changed leadership many times, the one leader I can remember was a player named Geordie, SANN - Run by Sam himself and always trying to cause a headache for all in the SD in order for a decent headline. But the real thing that made the server what is was, was the player-created factions. Ones that had no script support and were using pure roleplaying skills to survive, the main ones that spring to mind are the mafia, the rednecks, the used car dealerships and the hand car wash Notable events Boy oh boy - where do I begin? The first general election for Mayor of Fort Carson This event went on for weeks. Players of all kinds were encouraged to run for office and many debates were had between the top two candidates, hosted by Terence Carter of SAN news. Almost everyone who visited the server turned out for these events. Protesters destroy police vehicles outside town hall in protest of corruption The Government on the server was sometimes riddled with corruption - most people paid no mind to it and got on with what they wanted to do, but one fateful night, all hell broke loose. People were rioting in the street outside the town hall demanding that the current mayor be arrested for major corruption, many police vehicles were actually destroyed in this protest and it ended the next day when the current mayor was escorted out of the county to safety: It wasn't all drama however, these big events were weeks - sometimes even months - between eachother. What made the server unique was the small situations the players would create almost everyday - From a simple drive to the shops to someone deciding to be drunk in public which at first was nothing, it was only when his other drunk friends arrived that it prompted more of a response: And of course, there were the many car crashes: And who could forget the great tractor chase the involved eight BCSD cruisers? In conclusion FCRP was hands down, one of the best servers ever to grace San Andreas Multiplayer - I'd even go as far as to say it was the best server of any GTA game, be it third party MP or Rockstar Created. The server attracted high-level roleplayers from all walks of life and it really did show, along with the fantastic staff team that helped keep it all running smoothly it really was a incredible thing to be a part of. Unfortunately, due to numerous issues, the server shut down in late 2012 / early 2013. It was originally a planned break whilst the script was updated as it was a heavy edit of a script that wasn't created to handle the amount of players we got. It however - never returned from its break. If anyone is still around that played on the server, please feel free to add to this discussion, reminisce your favorite moments, share any pictures you may have.

Disappearing textures of world...
How many car mods have you got? I had this issue when I replaced every single police vehicle, it stopped appearing when I changed my texture settings to normal.

American Truck Simulator Releasing Early
American Truck Simulator is releasing a day early! For those of you that are unaware of this game, here's a snip from the steam page: "Experience legendary American trucks and deliver various cargoes across sunny California and sandy Nevada. American Truck Simulator takes you on a journey through the breathtaking landscapes and widely recognized landmarks around the States." Why is there so much hype around this game? I don't know, but I'm still buying it because I loved Euro Truck Simulator 2, a prequel to ATS. Whats included in release? From release, you'll get; - Access to the state of california with many classic cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco - Access to the state of Nevada with the likes of Las Vegas and more - Two licensed trucks for now - More are coming but are delayed due to licensing issues although they are already mods for addon trucks online. Not much for now, but this game looks exciting and I can't explain why, just look at some videos from some popular youtubers; Jeff Favignano https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epD4oHOzEcg Squirrel And of course, the trailer for the game itself; No pre-purchase option available on steam, but the game will be available later today. All prices can be found here; $19.99, £14.99, 19,99€, CHF 19.99, 1499 pуб., R$ 79,00, ¥ 2,299, 179,00 kr, Rp 249 999, RM84.00, P899.95, S$26.95, ฿699.00, ₩ 24,000, 59,00 TL, 459₴, Mex$ 349.99, CDN$ 28.99, A$ 28.99, NZ$ 29.99, ¥ 125, ₹ 1,249, CLP$ 14.500, S/.64.95, COL$ 62.000, R 325.00, HK$ 149.00, NT$ 649, 74.00 SR, 72.00 AED.

[REQ] Civilian Mercedes Sprinter LWB
I'm looking for a Long Wheel Base Mercedes Sprinter for V, I have a few plans for some skins I'd like to make for it. I'm looking for a pre-facelift model: and also a facelifted model which were introduced in 2014; If anyone could point me to any of these models, either locked or unlocked (I could convert them to V myself if needed) then that'd be fantastic. Many thanks

There is this.. https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/multiplayer-co-op Not sure how well it works with others, but people use lspdfr on there as it runs off the singleplayer portion of the game.

Lost With Installing Vehicle Mods and a Specific Example
I've briefly skimmed through this so forgive me if I repeat anything. The default cruiser can be located in x64e.rpf/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf The sheriff cruiser and SUV can be located in update/x64/dlcpacks/patchday3ng/dlc.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf I believe you've found police3 (the interceptor), but if not, its the same path as above but instead of patchday3ng, its in patchday4ng For the misplaced lights, I believe you need to edit the vehicles line in the vehicles.meta (or carvariations)

How to update with out losing vehicle mods
It shouldn't replace any vehicle mods.. When I updated my update.rpf the other day, the only things I had to reinstall was VisualV and a handling mod

rockstar is anti-modding
As much as I'm sure we'd all like them to focus on singleplayer, they won't anytime soon. They said themselves that the success of online has taken them by surprise, so much so that they've pulled team members that were solely working on singleplayer DLC and put them on the online team. We will see some SP DLC one day, but for now, online is a very successful model for them and as a business, they'll do everything they can do get as much as they can out of it.

rockstar is anti-modding
Uh.. no they aren't.. See here in a snippet from a Q&A last year on their newswire: They support singleplayer mods. The only ones they do not agree with are ones that affect GTA Online. When they update their game, mods will break. Its not their fault, they don't create the mods. They however don't "hate" the modding community and actually rather much respect it. As I say to everyone, a PC is a much better investment in the long run. A laptop will run GTA V provided its specs meet the minimum requirements, but laptops become outdated quickly and with no way of upgrading them, you'll be back to square one soon enough. A decent high end PC will cost around £600-£800 but will last for years to come as when a part becomes obsolete, it can be replaced with a new part rather than replacing the entire machine take a look on https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc

Computer Suggestions
https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc - Your best bet is here, follow the format when making a new post and most people on there will suggest builds to you I really recommend a PC.. In order to have a laptop that'll play V decently with mods etc, you'd need to drop the equivalent of £650-£800 and then there is the inevitability of the hardware becoming outdated pretty quickly or breaking down. For about £500-£600 (However much that is in dollars) you can have a mid to high range PC that, as soon as it starts becoming outdated, you can swap parts out for new ones.

What is going on here?
I'm sorry you feel that way about the mod. I can only explain the issue of the traffic disappearing on a traffic stop as Sam had pointed it out yesterday in another thread, 0.3 attempts to manage traffic during two scenarios. Pursuits - Traffic is low as naturally people would want to avoid any immediate area involving a police pursuit Traffic Stops - 0.3 attempts to manage traffic so that it doesn't slam into you or ruin your stop, apparently it does this too well as pointed out by Sam. As for the AI shooting suspects, I personally haven't had this happen yet, not on this version at least. Could it possibly be an external script affecting the behaviour of the AI? As for the patroling units joining, there is a 3rd party mod that disables this so the only cars involved in a chase are the ones you call - this is temporary until LMS or someone adds a toggle to the .ini file in the future EDIT: Another mod has just this minute been released that forces AI Cops to stay behind you and not ram you out of the way However, LSPDFR is one of the most outright fantastic mods out there for V, the only other I can think of from the top of my head that matches this level of complexity and detail is the Watchdogs mod that brings over the UI, Hacking Features and Sounds from watchdogs
