BlueGhost got a reaction from HashTagHell in POLICE VEHICLE VARIANTSI've wondered how people can make mistakes when identifying the police vehicles that they use. It may just be me being a full throttle autist (I am), but it irks the hell out of me when people use incorrect terminology. So, I wanted to make a thread (hopefully in the correct forum) about the vehicles that people use, and using their proper designations.
ACRONYMS:
LPV, LIMITED POLICE VEHICLE
PPV, POLICE PURSUIT VEHICLE
SSV, SPECIAL SERVICE VEHICLE
CHEVROLET
CAPRICE PPV
IMPALA LPV
TAHOE PPV
TAHOE SSV
SILVERADO SSV
DODGE
CHARGER PURSUIT
This one bugs the ever loving piss out of me. It's not "PPV".
DURANGO PURSUIT (INTRODUCED IN 2018)
DURANGO SSV
RAM 1500 SSV
FORD
SOME of you feel the need to lump the POLICE INTERCEPTOR variants in with the CIVILIAN variants by labelling them as such. You couldn't be more wrong. It infuriates me to no end when I see TAURUS wheels on a POLICE INTERCEPTOR SEDAN. Yes, the new POLICE INTERCEPTOR variants are based on the Taurus, Fusion, and Explorer, but they DO NOT CARRY THE SAME NAME. The Crown Victoria is the exemption in this case.
CROWN VICTORIA (LX TRIM LEVEL)
CROWN VICTORIA POLICE INTERCEPTOR
POLICE INTERCEPTOR SEDAN
IT'S NOT A TAURUS.
POLICE INTERCEPTOR UTILITY
IT'S NOT AN EXPLORER.
F-150 POLICE RESPONDER
F-150 SSV
POLICE RESPONDER HYBRID SEDAN
SSV PLUG-IN HYBRID SEDAN
EXPEDITION/MAX SSV
Get your shit right.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

BlueGhost reacted to Dark Light in A Recurring Problem: Outright Hostility Towards Constructive CriticismIn general, when leaving criticism for mods, I really wish reviews for the scripts addressed the imperfections with them, because not only does it help the downloaders know what to expect out of the script, but also gives out help to the script authors, let them know if their scripts are unbalanced or if they can be exploited in a way. There's a reason criticism should come from third parties rather than your own; because you are easily colored by your own perception and biases and a third party eliminates this.
I absolutely hate when people leave out negative reviews just to be a dick or that "it doesn't work" because they improperly installed it. It doesn't help anyone, it demeans the person who worked hard, used up their free time, on making the script, and it serves to clog up other good faith reviews. Praise for a script is something that is something I'd be more lenient on, as multiple praise for your work feels great and it's awesome that people get to enjoy your mod. Still I think the best feedback are honest, detailed ones that aim to be helpful, ones who love your scripts to death, but they know it has problems to lay back on too...and this is in hopes the authors take note of it and consider it when fixing their plugins.
Of course, reviews are going to have some level of subjectivity in them. That's the nature of them. I might love the occasional weirdo bizarre callouts like taking down tanks or other ridiculous vehicles, as my world of GTA V is a bizarre and ridiculous, filled with raining people, occasional tornadoes, and Mario ads everywhere. That's just me. However, that doesn't mean that just because a mod caters to you, doesn't mean you should turn a blind eye to its fault. It helps everyone everywhere to note those down while you're writing for review, and at the end, still say that you loved their mod because only the most passionate people write the best, problem-pointing out reviews. We all love LSPDFR and GTA V, that's why we're here after all. 🙂

BlueGhost got a reaction from Marchy in StackPath Blocked MeI was browsing LCPDFR on my phone this morning, when I went to look at the vehicle textures, I got a redirect to this:
I didn’t do anything to trigger the system, at least I don’t think I did. Currently using my mobile data to submit this.

BlueGhost got a reaction from ScreamingFrancis in Uploaded files cannot be downloadedI tried this method with my TrackHawk and it's still giving me the same error. Chrome says "File Incomplete" even after I uploaded the same file on my home network and switch from CDN to the Paris Server.
Just tired again and I clicked "Start Now", it worked great!

BlueGhost reacted to Jeff Favignano in Discord Overlay and RagePluginHookHey guys if you have been having an issue like I have of RagePluginHook going to the main menu instead of launching the game with the plugins here is a fix I found if you have Discord. You need to disable the in game overlay feature in discord settings so Rage can hook into the game. I don't know why this is but it either crashes, goes to main menu or runs multiple instances. Disabling this made rage work like a charm 😉

BlueGhost reacted to Jeff Favignano in LSPDFR 0.4 - Announcement + First PreviewYAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
-
BlueGhost reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.4 - Announcement + First PreviewBeen a while, huh?
You know, when we first started making LSPDFR, the whole process was pretty much one big roller-coaster that didn't have any brakes: there were the obvious highs when we'd finally add in something cool, but the low points were pretty hard as well - the amount of work that went into simply researching how things worked really took its toll as well. And, of course, while this was all going on there just simply wasn't any stopping, we were a couple of (somewhat) real people who essentially lived in Los Santos for just about all of 2015, spending month after month pushing forward and trying to come up with things that everyone here would like to see.
So, of course, the grind and the pace of everything simply just wasn't sustainable and after 0.3, it's no secret that while the numbers and everything for our site are still on the up, month after month, things did slow down quite substantially for the actual mod itself. But, we can tell you, this wasn't all bad news - it's afforded us the opportunity to take a step back and really look at the mod and figure out where we want to go next with it. While our approach before was all about cramming as much new stuff as we could into a couple of months of development, we've now been able to look back at many of the original ideas and concepts that we had for LSPDFR and build on them. Of course, with that being said, there's still a lot of new stuff crammed into 0.4!
With 0.4, we've taken the time to fix a couple of those "how the hell didn't they add this yet" moments :)
Aside from the cool little additions like this, though, the major theme of 0.4 is Character. Ever since seeing the character system for GTA Online, it was always our goal to implement something similar in LSPDFR. There's just something that much more personal and immersive about playing a game with your own character, and the possibilities that it offers are staggering too. And yes, while mods like EUP are fantastic (and awesomely compatible with 0.4!), they still feel somewhat separate or distant. With 0.4, this separation is gone.
No, these shots aren't taken from GTA Online. This is our own, fully-featured, LSPDFR Character Creator.
Of course, we'll talk more about the new Character features in LSPDFR 0.4 later. The Character Creator menu shown above is obviously only one part of what's new in this regard, although hopefully it emphasizes the effort that we've gone to. Thanks to some of the new additions like this, much of 0.4 actually looks and feels like an entirely new mod altogether.
Officer Ronson and his clones obviously couldn't make it to the flashlight party.
Stay tuned! We'll be sharing more about 0.4 soon.
