I agree 100% I have never understood the mindset of modders showing off their work when they never intend to share it. I find it quite frustrating to see how the end of the GTA IV era was handled in this department. If you don't want to share with the community and build relationships with each other then what is the point? We are all here because we all love the same thing. I have zero tolerance with people that must accrue all the credit constantly, don't get me wrong I appreciate the hard work of modders (being a consumer) and I voice that on videos I create when I do use them. The ego trip that can come from making virtual cars has been so outrageous in the past that I stopped using their mods and focused on the more humble bunch. Ah well my 0.02

I just made a comment, regarding another topic in a gallery, very similar to this one.  But, I like to hear myself talk and think, so I'm going to write another response here.
First off, I'm a consumer of these models and mods.  I don't contribute to the models, nor the mods.  I will say this though, it seems like the entire reason for these models to exist is to be consumed by the community.  I would like to believe all of these models are being developed simply because thousands of modders and LSPDFR role players will enjoy the content.  With that said, why would it matter if models are being locked.  These models are being used by people having fun and enjoying a game.
As I said earlier, I believe that model authors who wish to protect their models, simply release a low grade dollar tree version of their model.  Leave the premium model to be released when its able to be protected.  I truly understand a model authors desire to keep their content secured. They've put in the time and work to create something beautiful, that is enjoyed by tens of thousands.  It makes sense to me.  What doesn't make sense is why they would only release the most premium models for the community that so desperately wants them.  Im not asking authors to break their principles and only produce crap models, simply that they keep hold of the community that gives them purpose.

Having a repository that will host all standardized templates would be ideal like how in the downloads people can download different things, but this would be just a list of texture templates for various models to choose from to help skinners like me create proper setups on a model. *I'd seen the thread by Sam hosting the first four model texture templates, but hope to see a more formal repository later.

And here's the template, instead of having to download the original vehicle:

Hmm... if it doesn't contain a template, then there's not much you can do. Usually if it's someone else's model, with just different lighting, it will use the original template, but there are credits in the readme saying the model was made by Lt. Caine.... I'll take a look and see which ambulance it is by lt. caine and come back.

Found it - the vehicle you downloaded it is this (download it and find the template)

    Good luck with your clan!
