    If you don't want your dog to run away every time shots are fired or guns come out, make sure you edit the pedpersonalities.dat file and change bravery to 5. Comment if you need additional help, just figured this out myself.

    I actually ended up solving the problem. Thank you all for your time and assistance during this issue. After days of trial and error I ended up googling the missing file name and found a version of direct x that my computer required. The exact file name is directx_Jun2010_redist. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 I believe that is the correct link. Hope that helps those of you who still have this problem. Again, thank you guys for helping out, I truly appreciate it. - Andrew, a fellow EMT/FF and hopefully future cop from NJ

    That link seems to be out of date? It just takes me to a "download windows 10" page on the microsoft website. I'm having the exact same problem and looking for a solution.

    His game and mod probably don't work. I'm having the same issue. I've now tried two different operating systems as well as the CD and steam version of GTA4. Same problem... Very frustrating...

    Just an update. I have now tried two different operating systems (Windows 10 and Windows 7) as well as the CD and Steam version of GTA 4. Game is up to date and is being run as administrator. In case it's a hardware issue, I'm running the following components. AMD FX8350 8-Core Black Edition AMD ASROCK 990FX Killer Motherboard Sapphire Nitro R7 370 Graphics Card Additional log files are attached. Thanks!     Running a brand new, self-built, gaming computer with windows 10. I am running the game as administrator, have tried the manual install, and have C++ onboard and running. Additionally, GTA4 has no other mods installed in it. LCPDFR installs fine and the game runs, however, upon pressing ALT+P the modification will not activate. Love LCPDFR and really would like to play. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! - Andrew
