  1. So I was having this issue of super bad lag and it made me not even want to play. I looked at tons of posts from this site and many others and after trying many different suggestions and spending hours and hours I still couldnt get the lag to stop. he lag was so bad I got so mad and threw one of my monitors across my office. So after buying a new monitor I talked to a friend who said that GTA IV was poorly codded for the PC version and that the game did not like running on a multi-core processor. So here is what he suggested, and I tell ya what, it actually worked and the games runs so much better. Go into your task manager and under processes find GTA IV and right click, then click 'Set Affinity' and choose only one core for it to run off of. I guarantee your FPS will go way up. Next start out with all the graphic setting on low, turn off shadows because its a major FPS killer, View Distance @ 25, Detail Distance @ 25, Vehicle Density @ 20 and Vsync off. Start from there and slowly increase the graphics until the game looks good and still functions good. Before I did this I was getting around 9-11 FPS, now I get 23-24 FPS. My system is as follows just in case your wondering... Dell Optiplex 990 I5 3.30 GHz 8 GB DDR3 Ram 2 ATI Radeon HD 5450s in Crossfire Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit GTA IV EFLC (Disc Version, strangely its in English and French, but thats what you get when you order it from Amazon for $5) Hopefully this will help someone.
  2. I was having the same issue, the lag was so bad i got so mad and threw one of my monitors across my office. So after buying a new monitor I found a way to solve most of my issues. First off you do need more RAM, 8GB is what I run and seems to be good enough. secondly, the PC version of GTA IV is not coded very well and not designed to run on multi-core processors. go into your task manager and under processes find gta iv and right click then click set affinity and choose only one core for it to run off of, it will greatly improve fps and game quality. also start out with all the graphic setting on low and turn off shadows bc its a major fps killer and start from there and slowly increase the graphics until the game looks good and still functions good.
  3. Im not sure what the issue is, I had the game working but I rebuilt my pc with a better processor, more ram, better graphics card, and a fresh install of windows. here is the error i get when installing. also the diagnostic tool freezes after it detects EFLC. i have restarted, reinstalled, and everything else no luck same issue. 4. I liked it. It was way better then I could of done. I agree with the beginning being kind of drawn out and it was very hard to see the guy after he got out. The only thing I would say to work on is your music editing... being a DJ I know its not easy to cut parts out and pause them and add things in on a song, so maybe look into a program to help with your audio editing like Ableton or Audacity or AcidMusic or something like that. And congrats on finding the officer down clip, I know that wasnt easy!
  5. never got an error message. windows would just say that the program stopped responding. I think I got it today though... I uninstalled everything and reinstalled everything yet again including all .net framework, patches, game, lcpdfr, gfwl, everything, and it finally works! Im just assuming something didnt get installed correctly the first 20 times, who knows, didnt do anything different this time. anyways thanks for all your help everbody! now if i could just figure out what buttons do what...
  6. correct on place of not responding, yes running as admin, no other mods, and yes played gta iv before lcpdfr was installed
  7. no nothing else. another question that is off topic but maybe you could help... is there a list of what keys do what for LCPDFR?
  8. First off Im new to LCPDFR, and I think its awesome. I have GTA IV installed, with the current Patch, 4.0 .netframework, run everything as admin, uninstalled and reinstalled close to 15 time, read tons and tons of other posts on the same errors Ive had and most of them have helped. However the game stops responding once it gets to the point of actual gameplay. I can finally get past all the loading screens without it happening, but then it stops responding once it loads to actual gameplay I guess. I finally got the Diagnostic Tool to work and stop giving me the same issue, here is what it gave me...
