  1. Ah, then it seems your in the clear. But remember, any keys pressed while the malware was active was logged and sent to hackers
  2. You may not be entirely safe. If AVG only detected the ASI, chances are that you're infected. The ASI's download the malware, and the malware then does its stuff in the background while you're playing GTA 5. The ASI itself is not a virus, it just downloads the virus. Once that ASI is ran, it downloads the virus. So basically, if you ever played GTA 5 while you have the angry planes mod active, you are probably infected with malware
  3. Honestly, I hope we only use ped models. I just think they look better. Plus, there are lot of police models (There are a lot of police vehicles too). I can't wait to see how much content will be in LSPDFR
  4. By malware companies, I meant a group of hackers. Bad wording on my part. And these groups are most likely doing it the way I said. As I said before, effort is put in to make it look like a genuine mod. And these hackers are not hacking the website and altering the ASI files, that I can pretty much guarantee. That requires a lot of effort for something that most likely would never even work. Either these groups are paying off modders, or are just making the mods themselves
  5. Very cool! I notice that the model is Trevor in a highway patrol uniform (With no helmet), which made me a little curious. Will the models we choose from when we go on duty be main characters (Like Michael, Franklin, and Trevor), or just police models like in LCPDFR? Some screenshots show the player as a cop, but then there are screenshots like this which is pretty interesting. Anyways, good luck with the development. Looks awesome so far
  6. This looks like a problem in your AdvancedHook.dll . Is it modified, or in read only mode? You might want to try re-installing it. And word of advice, don't even touch a dll in your game directories. Literally a couple of clicks could keep the game from running
  7. Hi mike! Your situation seems a little odd, but has a simple fix. Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653 and then click download. Follow the steps on screen until it fully downloads. Then try installing LCPDFR again, it should work just fine. If something doesn't work, then please tell me. I prefer that you be as detailed as possible so I can help you to the best of my ability. Have fun with LCPDFR!
  8. We may be surprised. Sam's new snapshots show that they have some pretty cool stuff already and it hasn't really been that long ago that they announced their development of LSPDFR. From what I can tell from those snapshots, it looks like most of LCPDFR has been recreated in LSPDFR. Guess we'll just have to wait and see
  9. Well, to be honest, I never downloaded the mod. And I'm pretty sure that the script is simple, it just has a cool outcome. I should rephrase myself when I say that little effort is put in. Effort is put in, but not as much as a modder who actually cares about their mod. But don't quote me on my theory of how corrupt mods work, because I don't actually know. I'm just giving an educated guess
  10. Quick question, will LSPDFR have ALPR in it? I remember it being fun in LCPDFR, but somewhat annoying since popups only stayed on screen when the player was behind the car. And by the looks of your screenshots, you guys are perfecting some things that were annoying in LCPDFR like pursuits with several police cars. I like it, good luck with the development :D
  11. Most likely not. Alex (The maker of script-hook) said it was probably fine, and it has 30 whole locations added. If it was made by a corrupt modder, it would be more like 10 places. Plus some places teleport you in, which is some extra effort that a corrupt modder would not do. I trust Open Interiors, there isn't enough evidence to say that it is a malware mod
  12. Just some advice to everyone, if you downloaded a mod that looks like it had quite some effort put into it then it is most likely not harmful to your computer. Mods that download malware are made by authors hired by malware companies. These corrupt modders usually make a lot of mods, all of which do simple things. For example, angry planes is a very simple script that screws with the planes in GTA 5. Since the goal of this corrupt modder is to get peoples information, they won't put much effort into the actual mod itself. Just be careful what you download guys. There are probably other mods with malware that are yet to be discovered
  13. A scan won't always be good enough. The ASI can download the malware which then executes itself. It does what it needs to do, gets the information it needs, and then deletes the virus to cover any tracks. Plus, the ASI isn't the virus. The ASI downloads the virus. Antivirus softwares won't see the ASI as a virus. Any report should be taken seriously, since any ASI on that website could be the cause of malware The authors were most likely payed by the malware companies to have the virus downloaded by the ASI. Kinda sad when the modding community has some corrupt modders
  14. Discovered another mod that my anti-virus software suspected was malware. Proof here: http://gyazo.com/2da5cb4710886667f120b18952cb8b7e . The mod is supposed to add restaurants in GTA 5 like the ones in GTA 4, but now I say that it shouldn't be trusted. Use that ASI with caution
  15. I can help you with optimization. I know my fair share when it comes to hardware and whatnot. I'll tell you what settings to use, but feel free to adjust them yourself. The settings I'm going to advise should get a framerate between 30 FPS and 60 FPS, which is pretty smooth. Your Hardware Ok, so some immediate concerns. You're video card is your biggest problem. GTA 5 uses the video card more than any other piece of hardware in a PC. That's a pretty big issue, especially since you only have 1 gig of VRAM. Normally when someone doesn't have enough VRAM, I tell them to convert system RAM into VRAM. But in your case, you might have just enough RAM to load the things that GTA 5 needs to load. With no leftover system RAM, you shouldn't convert system RAM to VRAM. So while your system RAM can get the job done, your video card is going to be a major holdback. All your other hardware looks fine, your processor should get the job done well. Advanced Graphic Settings This is quick and easy. Turn everything off and lower all the settings in there to their lowest. I can pretty much guarantee that you don't need a thing in the advanced graphic settings. Graphic Settings Most of the settings here are video card based, and as I already said, yours isn't the best. That means that some settings will have to be lowered for better frame rate. I have planned out some settings for you. Everything in parenthesis are explaining why I chose that for you Ignore Suggested Limits: On (GTA 5 has some bugs with this feature, plus it isn't always right. I generally never trust a game to set my settings, but that's just me) DirectX Version: 11 (Use the most recent. DirectX handles how the game works, and should be up to date at all times) Screen Type: Fullscreen (GTA 5 is best player in fullscreen mode. Any other mode causes some weird bugs and can cause delay in controls) Resolution: 1280 X 720 (The naked human eye can barely differentiate 720p and 1080p. 720p is still HD, and looks fine. Anything more is a waste of VRAM) Aspect Ratio: Auto (Pretty simple, let the game make sure you can see everything. Barely affects your video card at all) Refresh Rate: 60 Hz (This barely matters for visuals, and doesn't take up much of your video card) Output Monitors: 1 (You have 1 video card, so only have 1 output. Several outputs require special technology in your video card, which you don't have) FXAA: On (FXAA doesn't use a lot of your video card, so there's no harm in having it on) MSAA: Off (MSAA uses up VRAM, which you don't have much of. Best to keep it off) TXAA: Off (TXAA is a technology only used by NVIDIA, and your AMD video card cannot use it. Note: You may not see this option, if you don't then forget that it exists) VSync: Off (VSync is a waste of video card effort for you, don't even bother with it) Pause Game On Focus Loss: On (This won't effect your video card, I don't even know why it's in the graphics part of the settings) Population Density: Fill the bar halfway (This mostly effect system RAM, and you should have enough) Population Variety: Fill the bar halfway (You have enough hardware for some good variety, but not enough for a full bar) Distance Scaling: Fill in the bar completely (GTA 5 has some really bad pop ins, so turn this setting up all the way. Even with this setting maxed out, litter on the ground will pop in, but there's no controlling that) Texture Quality: Normal (Texture quality takes more VRAM than any other setting, so you might want to keep this pretty low. The game looks nice anyways, it doesn't really need to be maxed out) Shader Quality: Normal (Shaders also hog VRAM, so keep it low) Shadow Quality: Normal (Shadows are dynamic, and are hard on GPU's. Yours is not ready for high quality shadows) Reflection Quality: Normal (Like shadows, this takes a lot of your GPU. Yours is not good enough, so try to keep it low) Reflection MSAA: Off (MSAA uses quite a lot of VRAM, so don't give it any. You don't have much VRAM to give. No offense) Water Quality: Normal (Water can take a lot of your resources, especially if you're surrounded by water. It takes even more when you're underwater, so try to keep the water texture to a minimum) Particles Quality: High (Particles don't take much out of your GPU, so this one can be high. It doesn't really make the game look better, but there isn't much reason to leave the quality any lower) Grass Quality: High (Grass quality uses up your CPU, so I advise some alight overclocking. The normal texture looks pretty bad, so I suggest using high) Soft Shadows: Soft (This keeps the shadows from looking terrible and doesn't use too much of your GPU. Soft is a good setting for you) Post FX: Normal (No need for it to be high, it is sort of a waste of hardware to me. However, you can adjust this to your liking) Anisotropic Filtering: X4 (X4 looks good, and doesn't use a lot of your GPU) Ambient Occlusion: Normal (No need for this to be high, simple as that) Tessellation: Normal (Just like ambient occlusion, there's really no need for this to be set to high) Summary Sadly, your GPU holds you back from a really good looking game. Everything else is fine, but your video card is your biggest problem. Your video card barely meets the requirements to actually run the game. Low frame rate is inevitable with that video card. Tell me if these settings work for you, I tried my best to balance quality and performance. Hopefully it works :D
  16. I agree, that mod is full of bugs and doesn't have enough features. The second that LSPDFR is released, that police mod will be history
  17. The only error I see possible is when the player is selecting the police model they want to play as when they're in the police department (That is if that's how it's going to work, I'm just guessing that's how it'll be since it worked fine in LCPDFR) and the player switches camera mode during that time. Since in LCPDFR the camera was not set to follow when selecting the model, it was in a fixed position, that could cause an error when switching camera mode. But then again, a quick camera override in the script should fix that issue
  18. First person mode only changes the point of view, it in no way changes the world around it. That means that the animations should work just fine. If you change camera mode during an animation in normal GTA 5, there are no problems. I don't see why that would be different in LSPDFR. However I can't make any guarantees, I'm not a developer. I'm just giving an educated guess based on the mechanics of GTA 5
  19. Happy birthday!
  20. I hope that was a typo, because if it wasn't then that seems unnecessary... I already admitted that I was wrong Agreed, I'm done arguing You see, saying that there's more coming soon and then saying that you don't even have plans is a bit annoying. Perhaps I'm demanding too much. In my head I'm not, but I'm not a developer so my opinion doesn't really matter. Best of luck developing :D
  21. I know that they can't really guarantee anything, but I didn't ask for guarantees. I asked for a broad guess. I wouldn't have cared if it made it to the release or not. Maybe I should've been more detailed as to what I wanted when I first asked, but it's kinda too late now. I was also under the impression that they had a lot done by the way the developers posted on this thread (Things like Sam doesn't sleep and whatnot), but it seems that I'm wrong on that one. I would love it if the developers recently posted updates here, but for now I'll just have to wait
  22. I understand that they don't know what's possible, it's just frustrating when a developer says that they have plans and don't tell us the plans. Plus they've already stated that a lot is possible with the Rage plugin hook. And I was never asking for details, I precisely asked for a broad guess at what will be there at the release. But I'm done asking for the developers sake. I'd hate to annoy them, since they're working so hard for us
  23. I wouldn't say that I'm asking for updates. Although I'm pretty sure I misread that warning. I thought asking for updates would be like asking how far done it is (I somewhat disagree with that whole warning. I mean, I understand the not asking for release dates because you don't really know when it will be done enough for a release. But not asking for updates doesn't really make sense to me. I we can't ask, what's the point of this thread?). However I can tell you don't want me asking so I'll stop. Sorry for any inconveniences I wouldn't say that it would be teasing to tell us some features... I kinda see it as teasing not to tell us, especially since you already know. Plus, this forum subcategory is called Updates and Information under the category LSPD First Response. I just figured that I could get updates on a subcategory made for updates. But that's just my opinion. While I disagree with not telling us some stuff, I can respect your decision. That being said, I'll just wait for the release. Sorry again for any inconveniences, and best of luck developing :D
  24. Loyalty may not buy them anything, but it means something. There's already a police mod out there that we could all use, but instead we wait. And I'm not asking for much, just a features list which has already been planned out. I'm asking for 5 minutes of their time for a single post. And that post doesn't even need a lot of effort, just for them to type the plans they have. I'm not asking for them to make new ones, just what they have (Can't stress that enough). I'm not asking for much
  25. With all due respect, I did not ask for a release date or updates. I was very precise in my wording, and I asked for a list of features that you guys plan on having in the initial release of LSPDFR. Sam has made a post before saying that you guys are pretty set in stone about your ideas. That being said, why can't you tell us? We've been pretty loyal, surely we can be told what ideas you guys have since you already have plans. Sorry if this is just another bother to you guys (Definitley not my intent), and best of luck developing :D
