Kchris reacted to AlconH in My thread was closed without hearing my viewsRegardless of your circumstances, piracy is not and will never be supported on these forums. It doesn't matter whether you find your thread being closed disrespectful, it's not a human right to use the forums without following the rules. The rules are there for a reason. It's life bro.

Kchris reacted to TheRealNoodle in First model mod for GTA, AA12 shotgun. How much longer until custom cars do you think?dont be too exited, that car is just a mesh, the wheels wont turn and it looks bad. we ned to wait until zmodeler 3 supports gta v vehicle formats (they're working on it) then we can start making and editing cars.

Kchris got a reaction from ZombLee in LSPDFR 0.2 Update - 12 JulySo R* attacks the thing that keeps their games alive and results in better sales. Seems like an amazing sale tactic to me, let's face it if it wasn't for mods I'd stick with my GTA copy on the 360 and so would a bunch of other people who own consoles as well as PCs. There are still tons of mods for GTA IV despite it being 7 years old and R* should realise that without the dedicated community of modders GTA would not live long.

Kchris reacted to Vonmere in LSPDFR 0.2 Update - 12 JulyRockstar should adapt like Wildcard Studios, makers of Ark Survival evolved. They released their dev kit with entire source code and this game can be played single player, on official servers (unmodded) or on private unofficial servers, mods allowed. There's no reason everyone can't win. Rockstar is just too cheap to host their own servers. If they'd do that, all of this would sort itself. Just my 2 cents.

Kchris reacted to Snolanda in LSPDFR 0.2 Update - 12 JulyI don't disagree with you, however one of the first classes I took in college for being a Dev was the history of games development. Game development in the 90s was very different than it is now, and those people who were developing then are the people who are in charge of making the kinds of decisions now that are a reflection of the overall game. Back in those days, modding was what drove a game to keep on keeping on, the disconnect comes in from the style of game you see now which is more multiplayer focused. This is why the DLC packs you see major Studios releasing tend to be more multiplayer focused because the paradigm has shifted in their eyes from being Mod/Singleplayer focused to multiplayer focused.
If you look at the market trends over the past couple years, its easy to see why people could make this assumption (Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc etc). The frustrating part is that people tend to ignore the outlying A++ 100% awesome games such as the Witcher, or Skyrim because they cant think of a way to support continuous profit for these games in a way that's been done before. Market people aren't supposed to be coming up with these ideas though, that's a Designers job, and its why I strongly advocate for more mixture of employees between studio departments.
