I was actually searching for templates on Google for this. Of course an awesome LSPDFR/LCPDFR user followed through! Absolutely incredibly time-saving with the large chevron template. Thanks much. If there was an option to donate, I certainly would considering the hassle saved. Thanks again!
  1. I agree. If it has been verified that Take 2 Interactive is legitimate in this incident, it was most likely instigated by the map translation. After the Red Dead map, as Hullian mentioned, it would not be surprising if T2 followed through and cut off OpenIV.
  2. This whole "Cease and Desist," corporate international/multi-platform contact letter raises a lot of red flags from what the OpenIV team has and has not said. For the record, Take Two Interactive is a company valued at over $1b and growing since the release of GTA V. It has stock on the NYSE. Furthermore, Rockstar Games and 2K Games are subsidiaries of Take Two Interactive (T2 owns both companies and their outlets). I did not think it was a big deal at first, but it has certainly been raising a stink. However, I'm optimistic this is either fake or an unintended mistake. There are some red flags and inconsistencies that tip off to a possible phoney. T2 Interactive owns Rockstar Games - RSG develops and publishes, as well as handles all point-of-contact interaction with customers and community on behalf of T2 if it is a Rockstar game. RSG has never implemented any intentional counter-modification update or feature and, as mentioned prior in this thread by Thero with proof, they have even supported it. This is very inconsistent with Take Two Interactive's supposed Cease and Desist letter. As for the letter, Take Two Interactive has confirmed with and through RSG in the past (by their own operation) the legality and availability of modding in GTAIV and GTAV. It's odd that the letter comes unprompted and right after a DLC update that does not affect infrastructure or other critical files that would obstruct or disable OpenIV. The largest alarm to the credibility of the letter is the grammatical errors of the document and its delivery over international jurisdiction. It is quite odd, legally and operationally, for a company to send a letter to cease and desist under terms of another jurisdiction to just one individual in a different legal jurisdiction in another country Furthermore, the document's authenticity is at large (I have not seen the letter, but if it is as bad as Deputy Rourke implies, then it seems largely debatable). The timing of it all contributes to the suspicion. After a significant update, but nonetheless at perhaps the least critical time for GTAV sales and GTAO interaction. Four years into GTAV, there is no overt financial motivation by either company to discourage modding and even go as far to cease it. As RSG said themselves, they support it and, obviously, it attracts even more sales because of more content. It seems irrelevant, out of character, and inconsistent for Take Two Interactive to pen the Cease and Desist letter. Laying all of this out, it seems even more indicative to me that the letter is false. It just doesn't add up. If it is not false, then I am not worried. There will be other ways, and RSG and T2 will identify their fault eventually, especially here in the closing one to two years of GTAV (four years later). If not, I have faith in the community to come back. This community always has, just look where we are today and what they're capable of. Until next time.
Also as someone who frequents the county, I can vouch that the details on these are outstanding, down to the plates and the SC seal. Simplistic but bold. I have always been a fan of their uniforms, but their Challengers still impress me, and seeing them in game is surprisingly accurate. Good job, quality textures. I think I'll use this as inspiration to work on a Spartanburg County pack (similar, but black/whites).
There was certainly a lot of time attached to this because of all of the detail. Genuine, complete, and certainly realistic. Thanks for this! Look forward to seeing more from you, you were always my favorite author on GPM!
  3. Good job for your first texture. Everything is neat and aligned well, and a consistent design. Some points to consider is that it would be more popular and useful using lore-friendly designs, rather than a fictional real skin. Also, try to stick to a more consistent type, like all capitals - but I think for now, it's rather fine. Maybe emboss the badge a little, or add more contrast. The more you texture, the more you get to play around and discover. Certainly a better job than most other first time models or textures. EDIT: And also, I highly advise you rename the title to represent the file such as "LAPD Fictional Skin - 2015 Slicktop Potato" in order to prevent confusion. Also, the credits are not necessary except for the creator of the template possibly (obviously is the creator of the original vehicle).
Significant high speed, low drag potato. Very impressed with the cage and light order. 🏳️‍🌈
  4. As a SC native, I like seeing all of these familiar skins. Great quality and looks very similar. Good work, keep up the lore-friendly textures but with local themes, SC has the best taste anyways ;)
  5. I know various others are working on mapping and ripping/modding both vehicles and modules (lightbars/extras). Frank (God bless his soul) stated here (http://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/topic/53761-zmodeler-import-exporter-released/?page=1) that he is working on a Whelen Edge. Trust me, when new imported models start coming in and there are more resources, guides and modders, there will be just as many vehicle mods as there were in IV (once it hits, it hits hard!).

Hype/build-up: 5/5 Addon: Just as great as the hype
  7. This is somewhat common, I have the same issue. Nothing has changed on my end, absolutely nothing.
The siren is among the best out of all of the other Smart Siren modifications/sounds for GTA V so far, and this is my used/preferred version, and being an audiophile, that means a lot. However, the installation process was very unclear and this mod was released, being susceptible to accidents upon installation and the mod was really degraded/delayed for use by its own, as there were both wrong, unclear, and misleading installation directions. I was able to install it being an independent sound modifier myself, however, judging from the comments and feedback, this file was held back because of the frustrating lack of direction. As a contributor of this file, you must, if your intention is to be a successful contributor, not rush and ensure to include proper and clear directions and functions, as it can be detrimental to feedback. I feel this deserves a proper feedback post, considering this file was inhibited by itself; a first, I must say, for any modification or installation that I have dealt with, which I found both disorganized and unfurnished. Otherwise, what mainly matters, the sound work and content, is truly nice and worth the hassle...for now.
  8. Inclusive and inspired by the upcoming Law Enforcement Agency Variety Expansion Pack, including a host of textures for both vehicles and players alike, I have conjured up a variety of agencies, roles, and units to be involved with in conjunction with LSPDFR and other modifications. By all means, if there are more roles or agencies that can be thought of or added to the list or ideas for textures/roles, add on to them and reply. These roles include but are not limited to (* included items in the LEAVEP)... Highway Patrol and Interstate Traffic ManagementMunicipal PatrolMunicipal Traffic ManagementState Patrol *Special Municipal Interdiction (patrols and checkpoints for search/seizure/prevention/apprehension of drugs, alcohol, firearms, etc.)Dynamic Response (stationary until high level callouts like pursuits, shot-fired, offering response with special vehicles/equipment)Vehicle Interdiction (pursuit modified vehicle that handles high-profile vehicles and pursuits) *Highway/Interstate Interdiction (stops and checkpoints for interstate search/seizure/prevention/apprehension of drugs, alcohol, firearms, etc.) *Railway Authority (patrol/maintenance of railway relations) *Port Authority (patrol of ports and maritime nodes) *Park Authority (park ranger)Security Service (specialized patrol of a certain perimeter)K9 *Transportation Authority Service (specialized patrol of a certain road/area for traffic management)Corrections and RehabilitationAir Support (ASU)Transportation Police (interdiction of high-end GVW vehicles and trucks) *Coast Guard (maritime and coastal patrol with lifeguards)Airport Marshal (aviation interdiction and airfield patrol/maintenance)High-Risk Patrol (specialized law enforcement in high-risk areas) *ATF Interdiction (specialized individuals for profiling for the interception of alcohol, tobacco, drugs or firearms)Animal ControlMaritime Police (specialized maritime patrols and VBSS operations) *Rescue Police (dynamic responses to various callouts and specialized for medical/emergency management)Tactical Employment (specialized individuals for high-risk operations)Customs Enforcement *Drug Enforcement and InterdictionThis variety may expand and develop as modifications and possibilities do, and this is created knowing what is possible/semi-possible at the moment. The beta for LEAVEP is scheduled for next weekend. Any input/requests are appreciated.
  9. I have also thought this upon discovering the NYSP vehicles in the loader of LSPDFR. Texturing certainly wouldn't be a problem, but I see these vehicles becoming modded for Los Santos use soon after abilities to modify models are discovered. This would be necessary for removing the chain-tires, and now drift mesh on the roofs of the vehicles. I'd certainly like to experiment with the texturing of these vehicles, and maybe leave the snow drift textures transparent (so they do not appear on the model in-game), and that would only leave the chain-tires. It will come I'm sure, you and I are not the only ones who crave this, I'm certain. Best of luck!
  10. I don't understand how you guys keep doing this. Without benefit/pay, with little resources, and for some people ungrateful in the community, you work hard all the time for this community and foundation. I admire it more than any other program because of your investments. I'd love to rub this in the face of other game developers (*cough cough* ED) about how such a major problem has caused such little delay, thanks to the dedication of you developers. Bravo and take your time!
  11. It appears that it isn't possible (unless permanent flashing, at best) to create flashes/strobe features on any component using visualsettings. This is something that would require additional scripting or implementation (like ELS, if it involved other components than headlights) to strobe and toggle on/off frequently headlights on a vehicle when selected. For the blue emergency lights, there is already a modification for that here. You could also make your own colors by finding those textures of the lightbars and light modules in the necessary .ytd's (most likely with the vehicles, as they are considered vehicle components such as 'extra's). Beware, though, the lights may appear blue and flash with the blue texture, however, red ambiance/bloom will still appear where they are by default, as this is part of the shaders, and cannot be modified at this time. Best of luck!
  12. I'm glad you (someone, finally) implemented all of the controls in one addon, very convenient. I'll certainly check it out, good work!
  13. I can't believe people are even talking about a 'delay' of the release in LSPDFR 0.2! I'd be elated if it was within this month! Not to mention, I didn't expect LSPDFR to be a thing in 2015...and being a Digital Combat Simulator (DCS) pilot, still waiting for a map that has been delayed four times for four years, and a new engine announced for release last Christmas...I can confidently say, take your time Sam/LMS! The impatient bunch need a taste of some Eagle Dynamics development Either way, I am very excited to see this coming and at least a preview, for that, I am very grateful!
